Halloween Town Costumes — Attraction in Burbank

This place has a lot of items, and I always went here for my special fx makeup needs each year and spent a lot of money. But they have a very unreasonable "no returns or exchanges policy" that no one could seem to explain when I asked about exchanging an obviously unopened item of makeup that I had purchased 1 day earlier from the same employee! It was still in the shrink wrap! When I asked why, they said "I don't know, it's the owner's policy."

Very rude. It's like, fine, I wasted $10 on an item I didn't need and can probably sell it online anyway, but why can't anyone tell me why such a strict policy? I feel like it should be a case by case basis, especially when you see I'm not trying to pull a fast one on anybody. I usually like to support local businesses like this, but sadly won't be returning next year. I'll give my money to a big chain or order online instead. What a shame. I went to get a costume tonight. I grabbed my credit card but not my wallet. My fault totally. My credit card was in my car. I work with horses all day and do not carry my wallet. My military ID is a nightmare to replace when I lose it. Again….totally my fault. I told the cashier it was totally my fault. I even joked.

On my way out, the security guard got defensive saying it was for my protection. I said “oh I know and I appreciate that.” He then snapped at me “then don’t yell at the cashiers”.

I didn’t. I have a hearing deficit from working with bombs. He misread my volume. I told him I didn’t nor was I rude. He went to the cashier who backed me up. Did he apologize? Hell no. Got defensive. Made excuses for his attitude.

No problem. Hollywood Toy and Costume is only 5 min more for me to go to. I will never drop another nickel at Halloween Town. Shame because I literally live 8 min away and shop there and in the prop store.

Verity of costumes , very nice store. BU T !!!!! I bought costume for myself and my daughter for daughter and dad dance on Saturday. They didn’t have room to try it. I came back home my wife didn’t liked it was too big not really working out. I come back on Friday , to return it and I was told that all there sales are final. And point out to some paper next to the cashier. I told them that I paid the full price and that I didn’t used the product. At the time of the purchase no one point out that sale is final.
