Lake Burien — Attraction in Burien

Am I the only person that is horrified that this public lake is not open to the public? This is absolutely absurd. Call the chicken a chicken already, these land owners think they own a lake. I think an easement should be legally pursued by the public that pays for, at the very least, the water quality tests for these entitled land owners and their private lake. What a shame. This could be a great place for the entire community, kids, families. It just saddens me things like this...

Totally messed up that this is a public Lake with no public access. To those of you entitled so and sos bemoaning lack of water quality if the dirty public gets their hands on the lake - there are several lakes in North Seattle with public access, some very close to Aurora, their water is frequently tested, and the water quality is safe for swimming and for the abundant wildlife there. This picture is not a picture of Lake Burien. It's a photo of Lake Burien PARK. The park is a very nice grassy area with a walking trail, tennis courts, and a play area for children. In the summer, there are occasional concerts here. The park is on the site of the old Lake Burien school about 2-3 blocks from the actual lake.
