I'd give it three stars, but I've enjoyed the breakfast many times (the coffee is great), so I'm bumping it up to four. That said, the dinner was disappointing. My clams were swimming in a pool of oily broth that should have been skimmed before serving. The crab meat in my husband's crepe was broken down from over cooking/tossing (it's a tender meat that should be handled gently). This is the Puget Sound, you can't get away with mishandled seafood here. I've had a pork shank here before that was tasty. The cheese-stuffed bacon-wrapped dates were good, but that combo is so tasty that you'd have to try hard to mess that up. The waitstaff is good and the decor is soothing, but they lost a star when, at 6pm, the music was cranked and a dining room full of adults over 35 had to start talking over bad pop music. It felt like we'd just been transported to a Red Robin. If I wanted to listen to obnoxious pop music I'd expect to find myself bellied up to a bar with lots of crazy kitsch nailed to the walls while people yelled over each other about how good their plate of sliders were. Not sitting at a candlelit table with a glass of wine and a cloth napkin on my lap. I'll be back for breakfast, but when I'm looking for a place with good food and wine this one is off of the list. The menu prices were decent for the...
Read moreI have only been here once (early afternoon on a Monday) and will be back, although I wasn't impressed by the food. I considered giving 3 stars but that's not fair based on one experience.
Good: Relaxing, clean atmosphere. High quality coffee- they serve Caffe Umbria and I had a nice cappuccino. Service was friendly and attentive, but I was here at a slow time.
Not good: I ordered the bootcamp 2.0 breakfast (sautéed veggies with poached eggs on arugula), and added sausage for an additional price. The presentation was nice but the veggies were undercooked and hard (especially the brussel sprouts- the ends weren't even cut off) and it tasted like there was no seasoning (there was supposed to be thyme). There was a very small amount of sausage (which did taste good). It was all edible, and I'm not the type to ask for a refund unless it's really bad or I was given the wrong thing. I was expecting more because of the price, and was wishing I made the same thing at home instead.
I will come back but won't order the same thing and recommend you order...
Read moreI’ve been here many many times; that being said, tonight I placed a to go order for the burrata appetizer and dates, I was told it would be $5 extra per additional burrata ball which seems overpriced but fair for a restaurant to charge. When I finally walked over to grab my food and pay, some man came up and told me that I was misquoted over the phone and would have to pay the full price for 3 full burrata appetizers on top of the other food that I ordered. I told him to go ahead and cancel the entire order. I have never been charged full price to add some extra cheese to their burrata appetizer plate. Trying to charge $70 for 3 little balls of burrata that you can get from Trader Joe’s for $5 total plus my dates cost on top!! Will absolutely never be returning and will never bring or recommend friends or any of my Airbnb guests to go here. Sad state of affairs for a local restaurant to not follow their typical protocol nor honor the price they told me over the phone which was the correct price I’ve been charged in the past. Bad...
