Few know about this Burlington gem because the building is so new. We were actually the first couple to get married here and we are still thanking our lucky stars we stumbled across it. The Sailing Center is the PERFECT place to have a wedding. The conveniently covered third floor deck protects you from the elements while overlooking gorgeous Lake Champlain and let me tell you, that evening was nothing short of magical :) Warm summer night, a lake breeze... We also had access to their waterfront promenade and dock for the most romantic sunset pictures! The venue deck is very spacious, we comfortably hosted around 80 people and were able to have both the ceremony AND dinner reception all in the same space! See attached pictures ;) It could easily have hosted more people. There was also access to other rooms including a conference room, large classroom and warehouse area which REALLY helped in the preparation process, and, they even let us borrow hanging lights and tables! We honestly felt like we were being treated like royalty. John Nagle was a godsend from beginning to end; he was our contact and so very flexible, so patient. He was very responsive to all our questions and let us visit the deck numerous times to make sure we had everything planned right. He even stayed late our entire wedding to make sure it went without any snafus. We so appreciated his and the rest of the Sailing Center's kindness and only wish we could get married there AGAIN :D! More pros: LARGE elevator. The DJ, food and rental vendors had no problems whatsoever getting what they needed up to the deck. Bathrooms on site, very big and clean! Also there is an attached observation deck included in the venue rental and it's a neat, quiet little place for your guests to get away :) Cons: There is not a parking lot; your guests will have to utilize street parking and that includes paying the meter. There are currently a little over 80 public parking spots just outside the building, first come first serve. Also, there is a chance the Sailing Center will be hosting their kid camps which was not a problem for us - we got married late in the afternoon after the programs had finished - but might be for some. Definitely check in with the Center on what their schedule is that day.

The Community Sailing Center was an absolutely perfect place to have our wedding! The vibe was amazing, the view unbeatable, and the space felt both intimate and full of life. Tilly was so helpful and accommodating from start to finish—she was truly a joy to work with. The staff helped quickly transition from an outdoor to indoor ceremony at the last minute due to rain and made what could have been a stressful moment, feel very easy. It was perfect for our tiny wedding (under 30 guests) and I’m sure would be lovely for a bigger one as well! If you’re looking for a Burlington venue that’s beautiful, flexible, and staffed by people who truly care, this is the one.

This place is spectacular! This is the second year my son participated in their summer camp. They offer a wide variety of activities for all ages so everyone in the family can find something they enjoy. Their summer camp counselors are kind, supportive, and fun. Their facilities are clean and accessible to all. I highly recommend you to visit and explore their programs!

I don't want to sound cliched but I've wanted to learn how to sail a boat since I was about 10 years old and I'm an adult now. I thought it would be awkward and I'd be the oldest or least experienced person in the class but not even close lol. Everyone is welcomed here.

The courses were casual and comfortable and taught me basic skills to get me independently out on the water and having fun. And the CSC staff were knowledgeable, friendly, kind, patient, and supportive throughout my experience.

And once you've learned how to sail, if you don't have a boat or a place to put one... the rentals and reasonably priced season pass practically guarantee you (and any friends or family you want to bring along) at least a couple hours a day out on a sailboat (or a kayak or paddleboard if there's no wind lol) for the whole summer. It's hard to beat sailing on beautiful Lake Champlain on a sunny and breezy summer day!! If you've ever wanted to sail but couldn't or were hesitant... it's not too late and this is a great...
