As I opened the door to Quarterstaff on a mission for pokemon, I found myself at the bottom of a set of stairs, and at the top I could see a pokemon poster upon an open door. I climbed the stairs, and entered what could only be described as a cozy TCG heaven. I was immediately greeted and welcomed by the smell of trading cards, and wide variety of tabletop games and trading cards. I noticed they had Journey Together packs and bundles for sale. Coming from CT, I didn’t get my hopes up for a reasonable price on either product. I spoke with Ross, who was to say the least one of the coolest people I’ve gotten to talk to about pokemon and the state of the industry when it comes to scalping and shortages of cards. I eventually asked how much a booster pack was for Journey Together, and he said slowly, with a smile on his face “Just five dollars.” In awe, I followed up with “how much for a booster bundle,” and his response was “only 33$.” I ended up buying 10 booster packs, which is their limit on pack purchases, which would deter any would be scalpers, but also give a collector like myself a great amount of pack rips. I left with a booster bundle as well for my sealed collection. All for under 90$. I had felt like I robbed them to be honest! The integrity of selling pokemon cards as well as other trading cards at MSRP is something Quarterstaff takes very seriously, which in today’s TCG market, is something most have forgotten. If you want to obtain trading cards of all sorts, at the prices they were meant to be sold at, then Quarterstaff is your place. If you want to talk about or play tabletop and trading card games, then Quarterstaff is your place. If you enjoy a friendly atmosphere, with like minded individuals who share your passion for all games, then Quarterstaff...
Read moreThis is a great store. Very knowledgeable staff, and very friendly. It's definitely worth a trip in just for the store merchandise, but the real highlight is the gamer's space. They maintain a very high code of conduct, and take it seriously. I've had several (elementary school aged) students attend gaming sessions there, and they have all had excellent experiences. Some have gone in to trade magic cards and, rather than taking advantage of the inexperience, the older gamers have advised them on how to fairly evaluate trades. As a teacher, I often recommend this place to parents, and everyone I have sent has had a similar,...
Read moreIf you are looking for decks and packs for mtg or Pokemon, Warhammer pieces and paints, DND equipment, and board games this is the place to be. They have a bunch of events (most free) for those things and have incredibly nice staff. They also sometimes give a free Warhammer figure of Mtg cards for beginners for the hobby(s). The only reason it's not five star is because they do not have singles for card games. This is frustrating because getting booster packs are basically gambling to try to get what you want and are ultimately in that scenario a waste of money. However a good place for anyone who likes the things I have...
