I had a disappointing visit on Friday. I stop her anytime I go through Cambridge on Route 50. I had not been here in several years and was taken aback by the changes. It had a neglected 'feel' to it. The rest rooms were locked. One had to get a key from another building to use them (this was not the case in the past) and they were plastered with well worn stickers about reporting human trafficking. I asked about the bike path along the river - curious as to the length. The woman working said, "it goes from there to there" while pointing ito something / nothing in front of her and behind her. I then asked about kayaking in the area and she said, "once a week they do it out there" (while pointing to something / nothing in front of her). I had been here many years ago and I remember the cool shade structure but not the playground. Playground is super cool, BTW - lighthouse slides and ship-themed section! Beautiful waterfowl sculpture. There was some live music and it looked like maybe they were getting ready for a Fri night event? Or maybe there just weren't that many people attending! Building restrooms locked which was kinda surprising since there did seem to be the event going on but it was after hours for the...

It is an amazing center, far different from the normal welcome centers. The vistas are outstanding and you can also watch a movie about all the things that Dorchester County has to offer while visiting. There are tons of free brochures and even a video about the area that you can purchase. Next to the center is a beach/park and waterfront boardwalk where you walk or relax and watch the passing boats go by. I give this 5 stars because it...
