Butter & Grace Comfort Food — Restaurant in Cambridge

The food was good, the building was not. Your food is served in to-go containers, and I highly recommend that you do go; it isn't a very pleasant place to hang out. I would eat the food again if I were in town, but take it back to the hotel/DoorDash it.

Dined with a party of 4, we tried the oxtail and fish entrees. I wish the there was a little more meat in the oxtail (I see there's a double... go for that), but it and the mash were just plain old tasty, very yummy gravy. I picked up a side of collards and a side of fried okra, both well-cooked exactly like you'd want it. Really good cornbread.

We did not interact with the curry menu, it seemed a little out of place. The soul food part of the menu is pretty straight-forward, this isn't "elevated soul food" or anything like that. Just straight up country cooking. Priced reasonably for what it is.

There's a folding card table in the dining room, and a mismatch of other seating. Possibly one of the grossest bathrooms I've ever been in. They would be well-served with a different location, I think this one is...

All three dishes we ordered - peri peri chicken, chicken fried chicken and fried catfish - were served hot and fresh and cooked perfectly. The sides were likewise excellent with the cornbread being a real standout. You order at the counter and then wait for your food to be brought out. It’s not fast, but the wait was worth it. The staff is friendly and efficient. There were tons of takeout meals headed out while we were there for lunch and we couldn’t help but notice that this was about the nicest crowd of restaurant patrons we have ever encountered. Folks wishing us a nice day, talking about the food and just generally being pleasant. It added to the food experience and overshadowed the somewhat uncomfortable chairs bolted...

First of all I want to say this restaurant was a pleasure to visit.Very nice polite and knowledgeable employees.The selections on the menu were abundant so many choices to satisfy anyone. Ordered several dishes from catfish to butter chicken sides of fresh homemade mashed potatoes Mac and cheese candy yams nothing was a disappointment. It was hard to save room for dessert but tried the banana pudding and others in my party had cobbler and mud pie it to was delicious.i truly recommend anyone to stop in and get some amazing food even if it's a little out of the way because it's so worth it lots of great food for a very reasonable price.Great job to Butter and Grace and there...
