Disheartening Experience with UBREAKIFIX and CellHelmet Product
My recent encounter with UBREAKIFIX for a phone screen repair, followed by the purchase of a CellHelmet screen protector, was an immensely disheartening experience. Initially, I paid $424.99 for the screen repair, trusting UBREAKIFIX for their expertise.
Additionally, based on their recommendation, I invested $84.99 in the CellHelmet screen protector, which was sold to me with the promise of a $300 warranty towards future repairs.
However, this trust was quickly shattered. Five days after applying the CellHelmet protector, while the phone was safely encased and placed face down on my desk, the screen inexplicably cracked without any impact or drop. This was particularly frustrating because the protector was supposed to safeguard against such incidents.
Returning to UBREAKIFIX, I expected them to stand by their service and the products they endorse. To my dismay, they refused to repair the screen and suggested that I should file a claim with CellHelmet. This redirection was the beginning of another round of frustration.
Upon contacting CellHelmet, my claim was denied due to a perplexing clause I needed to be made aware of at the time of purchase. The warranty does not start upon purchase or registration of the product but begins 8 days later. This critical piece of information was never disclosed by UBREAKIFIX, leaving me without the warranty coverage I thought I had secured.
The entire ordeal has left me feeling misled and disregarded as a customer. I spent $509.98 for the repair and protective screen, only to end up with a cracked screen again and no support from UBREAKIFIX or CELLHELMET. The need for more transparency and customer support from both entities is concerning and reflects poorly on their business practices.
This review is a cautionary tale for anyone considering UBREAKIFIX for their repair needs or purchasing products like CellHelmet. I urge potential customers to diligently inquire about all terms and conditions of services and warranties to avoid similar disappointments. The experience has been costly and a stark reminder of the importance of clear communication and reliable customer service, which could have improved my interactions with UBREAKIFIX...
Read moreWell, they fixed my phone under warranty. And they did do that well. So for that, I can't give 1 star. My experience with the service at this location was atrocious though. What a horrible experience. I've been very frustrated for 2 days in row now for the perpetual treatment I received by one of the employees. I went in yesterday to have my phone get looked at as it was having being defective. They took my phone and said come back in an hour, sure. I come back and this employee tells me that I told him to do X service. I have no idea what he was talking about and me trying to say anything turned into him talking down on me and speaking over me and being very aggressive. He said to come back tomorrow to have my phone repaired under the warranty. I came back today and the same guy was there and he once again treated me terribly. When I read the contract I was told to sign he acted like I was pulling his teeth, and when I asked that the replacement part was OEM he sighed audibly and said it was and told me to hurry up and sign the contract. What the hell. The entire time I felt like he wanted me nowhere near him. The feeling was mutual, but you're holding my expensive technology. I left a phone number so I would know when to come back. They never called. They said come back after 3 hours, but considering they had a number to call, I assumed it was going late. They never called. After 4 hours I came back, had to wait 10 minutes alone in the main space before I had to call out and heard an aggressive "coming!". Whatever, I got my phone and the repair was good.
Im just really upset with this experience. I felt like my phone was going to maliciously mistreated the entire time, and that this employee should not be in customer service. I don't know why he thinks I wronged him, but I was definitely punished for asking more than 0 questions and being confused about words he put in my mouth.
I would never come to this location again with this current employee working here. A very...
Read moreLeaving this because of how terrible and lasting this locations repair was 2 years on. Avoid this place at all costs. I came in with a samsung laptop to fix a dead battery- service was slow but I had time. I fill out the form and leave the device with them and had gotten an estimate of a week. It was understandable as the samsung proprietary battery was $80 and needed to be brought in. After a week and 2 days I call as I had received nothing and was informed that the device just shipped to a offsite repair center and they would need a week more. Given the part was already purchased and shipped and I could do nothing I agreed and thankfully borrowed a friend's laptop for work. Another week goes by and I had to inquire again about the status- and the repair center didn't get to it. At this point I patiently inform them that I needed my laptop for work and that this seemed a bit excessive. It took 2 more weeks with regular calls to get them to complete the repair and ship it back. The battery worked until 6 months later the laptop shutdown without a charger. I troubleshot it at home and got the issue somewhat resolved. I took it back to the location to ask about potential issues and after a frankly half-interested assessment I received 2 options- come back if the problem reappears or send it to the repair center which could take up to another month. For what was a hundred plus dollar operation I had expected some more proactiveness about such a recent failure or at least previous experience given the proximity to MIT. Nothing. I returned and treated this laptop with care for a year and crossed fingers and it seemed to do well. Now less than 2 years later- a battery that once lasted me 5 years of intense collegiate use and strain- is effectively a desktop with a charger plugged in. This location and staff will waste your time, money, and energy. Based on other reviews the only thing that seems to reliably work here is the ability to disappoint years...
