Just got back home from lunch here with a friend. I got the chef's choice nigiri with six spicy tuna rolls and miso soup and he got the sakana special (and not pictured – rainbow roll and spicy tuna roll). Everything was super fresh and delicious and the servers were very attentive and not overbearing.
The only criticism I have – and it's honestly a very minor one in my opinion – was the answer I got when I asked the server what each nigiri piece was because I was genuinely curious. I don't know if he honestly didn't know because he wasn't the chef or he gets asked that question all the time by ignorant white people and is tired of answering it, but roughly paraphrased, all I got was "the first couple are definitely tuna and salmon."
Also, more as a heads up than anything, the street parking was god awful, especially on a Sunday, and I had to circle the block at least eight times. I'm not going to hold that against the restaurant though. That's just the nature of the beast in Cambridge with younger people and being near...
Read moreWe visited the restaurant and unfortunately had an unpleasant experience regarding the service near closing time. We arrived at 2:00 PM (they close at 3:00 PM) and promptly ordered an appetizer. At 2:30 PM, we were told to place our main course order because the kitchen was closing which we understood, even though it felt a bit early.
We finished our meal well within time. At 2:55 PM, the check was brought to us, and we paid right at 2:50PM. To our surprise, at 2:59PM, the staff asked us to leave the restaurant.
We understand that restaurants have set hours, but expecting customers to leave exactly at closing time especially when they’ve already paid and finished eating feels rushed and unwelcoming. A grace period of 10 to 15 minutes would be the minimum expected at any good establishment.
We left feeling like we were being kicked out definitely not the kind of experience that makes us want to return or...
Read moreI came here with a friend on a weekday night, and we were immediately seated upon arrival and given menus and served water. There were a lot of options on the menu, but I eventually decided on the Hokkaido and Dragon. One of them had seared scallop on it which was delicious which gave the entire roll a roast-y seared flavor and it was awesome; I've never had sushi like that before. Both rolls were really fresh, and I liked all the ingredients in both. I really enjoyed my meal, and service was pretty good too. The rolls came out to be around $30 post-tax which is a bit pricey, but for the quality, I...
