I'm a big boba fan. The green tea latte bubble tea is made well. You can tell they use matcha powder, a hefty amount of bubbles fill the bottom third of the cup, and it's not overly sweet. I like that you can also customize your tea by choosing which type of milk (skim, soy, etc), and you can ask them to hold the sugar as well.
On my last visit, I decided to deviate from the green tea and tried the lemon-ginger smoothie. As I mentioned, I'm all about the bubbles, so I asked them to put bubbles in the smoothie (the menu says they can be added to any smoothie for 50 cents). The girl at the counter advised me against it since the smoothie has pieces of lemon and ginger, but I insist. Gimme my boba.
The number of bubbles I got was far less than in the green tea. And I'm paying 50 cents extra for them! The lemon and ginger pieces added an interesting texture and complexity, and I think the boba was just fine being in the mix as well. It didn't add a lot to the drink, but I still enjoyed their presence. The overall texture of the smoothie was a bit off, as if their blender were malfunctioning. There were large chunks of ice that I had to crunch down on, and the top third of the drink was overly frothy. The lemon and ginger flavors went well together, but I found the drink a bit too sweet overall.
Serves me right to deviate. I'm going back to my green tea latte love....
Read moreBest bubble tea EVER Fresh baked banana bread and chocolate chip cookies were absolutely delicious Friendly people behind counter Very helpful and kind Loved it My tea wasn't sweet enough and the woman was happy to take it from me and add more sugar! :) she even asked me to taste it first before leaving to make sure I liked it as I told her it was my first time coming there. Just want to say - to the person below/above me who mentioned that there was no sugar in their bubble tea... it says VERY CLEARLY on their menu sign at eye level on the wall "when ordering it is up to you to select how much and which type of dairy/ sweetener you would like in your tea. Once ordered you own your drink."
Another thing I will say is I enjoyed the quiet, cozy atmosphere of the place. It gives that well established "been around forever" yet home-grown family owned type of feel. I really could not be happier. I only wish I lived closer so I could...
Read moreSeems like the someone is constantly reporting this review to be taken down, but I will keep posting regardless. Disappointing bubble tea and wraps. Ordered the coconut bubble tea, but was surprised that they put no sugar in it - it tasted almost identical to regular coconut milk, and it tasted even weirder with boba in it. The owner said that they give options to their customers, but when I ordered the tea, I wasn’t asked to choose sugar levels. Same with the bibimbap wrap: I wasn’t aware that bibimbap wrap was by default a vegan option. They again replied by saying that they offer protein options as extra, but it would’ve been much better if they simply asked me when I placed the order. Overall, I’m disappointed by the reply left by the owner/manager, and I wouldn’t...
