John D. Morgan Park — Attraction in Campbell

A bit disappointed by the playground renovation. The big kid structure is great for anyone who doesn't have unique needs. However, this park claims on it's sign to be an inclusive playground, but doesn't appear they consulted anyone who might require inclusive features in the design. Much of the play structure base is wood chips, which are incredibly difficult to traverse for anyone in a wheelchair, crutches or with walking difficulties. There's a great ramp up to a wide roller slide, but the drop off from the bottom of the slide is 2'+ and drops into wood chips. A rubber base would be much more accommodating to diverse needs. Seems like they took the cheap way out. There are no inclusive swings, only infant bucket swings and swinging saucers, one of which was already broken. On top of all that, the toddler structure is microscopic. Maybe 2-3 kids can be on it at once. There's no room for the littlest ones to test their skills with bigger kids zipping past. Normally our toddler migrates to the big kid structures when he gets bored with the toddler stuff (which was fast), but the sides are huge with huge drops at the bottom so he needed more than normal supervision. Was really looking forward to this new playground, but others in the community meet our needs...

This park was OK. My 2 yr old loved the play structure but my 10 and 8 yr old kids did not enjoy themselves at all. My older kids gave this park a rating of 1 star and according to them, this park was designed for "babies". I do agree that the playstructure is definitely not for any kid older than 5 yrs and if older they will be bored after going down two very docile slides. But again, if you have a 2-5 yr old then the park is sufficient enough to keep them entertained.

The real reason you would come to this park is to play on their wide open fields which are perfect for soccer, football, baseball, kite flying and having a large party all at the same time! This field is seriously huge and can accommodate a many of things. There is also a clean public bathroom and to round it all off there is a pathway that you can walk on with your pooch on a leash.

Overall, it's an ok park if your just going to play on the wide open fields or taking your under 5 yr old kids to play on the structure.

This is a nice park that feels like a Midwestern natural setting. There are plenty picnic areas to reserve, grass that provides soothing green tones, and numerous large conifers and deciduous trees to provide shade for a calming escape from urban rigidity. Alas, it is not a perfect world. Some dog owners still don't want to clean up after their dogs. Many local dog owners come to the park and as it happens in every park in the greater San Jose area, there are a few who feel privileged somehow to disregard signs that clearly state that dogs must be leashed, but I suppose the alternative is a police state where people are hauled off to jail for these minor infractions. Nobody wants that. This park has signs that depict a dog 🐕 with a 🚫 through it. Curiously, I take this to mean NO DOGS. But that can't be right because I see dogs here everyday, many off leash. I am a responsible dog owner who always picks up after my dog without fail so it is very annoying to see feces in the park.
