St. Lucy Parish — Attraction in Campbell

This large Catholic Church (with the Parish office and School in the same complex) is open most of the day and evening. The Rosary is said twice @ weekday, once in Español, Mass is offered, Fri noon & several times Sat & Sun, check website for times & Eng or Esp The quiet, dignified interior is filled with beauteous colours streaming through the large, stained glass windows on both side walls. There is a young Priest who is both a good shepherd and a gifted teacher. His sermons in Español and English are uplifting but always profound. Helping us to re-orient ourselves to the straight path, the safe path lit by God and set out by Jesus Christ. Also, Saint Lucy is amongst the virgin martyrs and the patron saint of the blind, eye diseases or disorders and in many countries 13th December, her feast day is a festival of lights, celebrating the Light of God through Salvation. It’s truly disheartening to share my experience regarding the church staff. I faced challenges while trying to arrange my son’s baptism, as my documentation was received but my inquiries went unanswered. It was quite frustrating when I tried to call, only to find the phone was rarely answered and the church was often closed during the listed hours. I also reached out via the text hotline for registration, but unfortunately, there was no response there either. I truly don’t understand the necessity of providing a birth certificate if there’s little follow-up from the staff. It’s been a difficult journey, and I've decided to look for alternatives. I genuinely hope for more support from the church community, as it seems there is a disconnect when it comes to assisting families in need.

Es realmente desalentador compartir mi experiencia con el personal de la iglesia. Tuve dificultades para organizar el bautizo de mi hijo, ya que recibieron mi documentación, pero mis preguntas no respondieron. Fue bastante frustrante cuando intenté llamar, solo para descubrir que rara vez contestaban y que la iglesia solía estar cerrada durante el horario indicado. California suffers a mass decline in Church hours.

In Italy they are open every day, all day, & every night. This is how available the churches SHOULD be. It saddens me. This is the closest church to my house and it is only open 8-7am on most days, so this church is mostly closed rather than mostly open.

Nevertheless, wonderful church....
