I love this store. Every time I go in I find a ton of things for my teenagers that I can afford and they feel good about wearing. Alekhya is an amazing addition to the staff at this store. She is helpful and sunny, she makes the experience enjoyable!

Great service and an upbeat staff. A fine selection of clothes at reasonable prices. I like the cheery welcome I get when I shop here.

I shop at Plato’s Closet all the time and genuinely love the chain. I usually go there for new pieces each season or for special occasions, and I’ve had good experiences at the Battle Creek, Ann Arbor, and Novi locations. Unfortunately, this Canton location has been consistently disappointing.

The main issue: sensors left on clothing—every single visit. I’ve shopped here 5 consecutive times, and each time, I’ve gotten home only to find sensors still attached to my purchases, forcing me to make another trip back. On my 5th visit, I even checked carefully before leaving. I literally pointed out a sensor on a pair of shorts as they were being bagged, and the associate dismissed me—until I picked it up myself and showed her. Then, as I left, the door alarm went off because another item still had a sensor on it. When I mentioned how often this happens, the employee just smiled and said, ā€œYeah, that does happen sometimes.ā€ No apology, no concern.

On top of that, I had a really frustrating selling experience. I brought in 20–30 items, including 7 pairs of Lululemon leggings in excellent condition (some never even worn). They took all of them but initially offered me $30–$40. Then the associate got confused, changed it to $10, and couldn’t explain how or why. I was left with no clear breakdown, and they insisted on keeping all the items for just $10—plus they gave me a $5 voucher as if that made up for it. For brand-name items like that, it honestly felt like I was taken advantage of.

I really wish this location would improve, because it’s close to home and I do love Plato’s Closet as a whole. But between careless mistakes, lack of professionalism, and questionable buyback practices, this particular store has...

Went in the store with my 2 daughters, was there about 30/40 mins have them both pick out a couple outfits. Got to the register to pay,I pulled out a $100 dollar bill and the guy politely said to the other staff member ( what do we do with $100 dollar bills) the taller brunte lady said we don't take them and pointed to a sign on the register. I said ok no problem,I asked the guy cashier to hold my stuff I'll be right back. So I went to a couple places in the plaza to try to get change and they all declined ( understandable I wasn't buying anything) so I loaded up the girls and went down to speedway, got changed and headed back. Waited in line again to pay and get my stuff and noticed the guy in front of me pulled out a $100 and the same lady that told me they couldn't take my 100 bill took his and gave him change. I asked her about it after and she rudely replied ( we are here to make money ) and I asked what was different between his $100 bill and my $100 bill. All she said to that was I'm sorry that you had to leave to go get change. I said all I was asking for was consistency if you did not take mine you shouldn't have taken his. I will not be back to the store and I will tell my family not to go back to the store. I don't understand the reason why and never got a reason why...

I went in with baskets on clothing and shoes. I was told it would be a 1-1.5 hour long wait for my offer and that I needed to remain in the building the entire time. I wasn't pleased with that since I am not a Plato's shopper, but I was fine with it since they did have a bench to sit on and wait. I browsed a little bit to see what they had for sell in there and found that a lot of their items weren't in the best condition and were mainly out of season Pink, American Eagle, A&F, Forever 21, Hollister, etc. So, I figured they'd be thrilled with my items since they were pretty new and gently worn. I received my offer 2 hours later and was offered about $78 for some True Religion jeans, a PINK outfit, and a few Hollister items (all 3-6 years old from my early high school years). I was pleased with the offer overall considering how old the items were that they took, but don't understand why they didn't take the newer items. I'm assuming because they didn't want to dish out more money. The cashiers were nice and the store was fairly neat. I've returned there 1 other time...
