Nice restaurant and is at a nice location. There is a Mediterranean joint also nearby.
One point to make is when you call to order and they ask your name, they do not ask to spell it. Good job guys.
Did a take home, I have to say very good packaging, which you normally dont get at other Indian restaurants. This is something that is required when dealing with Indian dishes. Prices are nominal. Location is also good, right on our Ford road.
Good indian flavors,
Lamb korma - has good flavors with cream also a plus is it comes with jeera rice Chicken biryani - came with egg, which was good. Very authentic. Container was sturdy. The side gravy that came with it was also tasty, with sides of coconut Chilli chicken - is not spicy
Update from Jan 2020 - other good dishes here are: Once again wonderful packaging. Lamb biryani - this also comes with egg, which is a plus. Wonderful rice and the egg is also sliced. Chilli chicken - juicy and with lemon but again 0 spice. So mostly a last for me. Chicken chettinad, a good point to make is when you buy any curry dish, it just comes with jeera rice which is a bonus, even if they dont ask u. Good job here. The rice is awesome. Garam masala in powder form in the curry was a bit high. Could be reduced.
Update from May 2020 - the biryani is just awesome!!
Update from July 2021 - excellent Chicken Fry, very tasty!! Also tried special chicken biryani - tasty with red chicken pcs and there were lots...
Read moreI convinced two friends to try Indian food for the first time with me, in the end they weren't pleased but I liked it. Most of it was way spicier than the American junk sorts of foods we're used to, so not surprising. The malai kofta is awesome, and not too spicy so I definitely recommend it. My friends ordered chicken curry and said it was much too spicy, and the chicken that came with the appetizer plate tasted like it was reheated leftovers. (I assume it was either the chilli chicken or the chicken 65; honestly we had no clue what we were getting when we ordered because they don't specify what you actually get with the other courses) With my appetizer plate I received baby corn Manchurian which tasted good but has some extremely hot peppers in it. Like I had to stop eating and just drink water for a while. They only serve water besides lassi and masala buttermilk, so that was different. Also our server almost only spoke to the one male in our party. I don't know if that's a cultural thing or what. All in all I would go again, but my friends refuse to.
$9.99 for what I was told was a mushroom soup of some sort, an appetizer plate of rice with baby corn Manchurian and what I assume was aloo palak, naan, malai kofta, and gulab jamun (kinda bland) for dessert. Portions were small by American standards, but you're getting 4 courses and we all ended up...
Read moreCame here for the first time and had dinner. Had the samosa and chicken 65 for the appetizer, both were great. The chicken 65 had a great fried texture and wasn't as spicy as anticipated. For the main course we had the special chicken biryani, tandoori platter, garlic naan and Singapore veg noodles. The tandoori had a great flavor, and included vegetables, shrimp, kabob and chicken. It was spiced perfectly, but didn't have the little charred edges of chicken that I normally enjoy. With such great flavor, I could overlook it. The biryani had a great balance, and the special chicken had a heat that builds. Singapore veg noodles were lighter than the other things we had, but it was a refreshing change. They were seasoned and certainly not bland, and I would say they are a good dish for someone who doesn't like the traditionally bold flavors offered from the majority of the menu. The garlic naan was up to the standard, nice chunks of fresh garlic and a good vehicle for the tandoori and the chicken 65. Overall a great meal, if I had one small critique, it would be that the water wasn't served with ice, it was room temp. The Coke products were not from a fountain, it was served in cans, so no...
