Horrible customer service. I wouldn't have gave them a star if I could. Went in looking for my dream engagement ring. I found one I absolutely loved that was in the showroom but wasn't real. I asked the owner if he could make the ring exactly the same with just a smaller center stone. The ring was a 3 band set. He told me he could make it exactly the same. I came to pick the ring up and (don't get me wrong) it was a beautiful ring but was not like the example ring I wanted him to remake. The middle band was nothing how the original one looked like, and he added a fancy design on the edges of the ring which were not there he was also missing diamonds that were suppose to be in the post. I left happy because I know he tried but ended up coming back the next day because I couldn't get used to the ring. I told him it didn't look the exact same as the first ring and his response was "That's because I do not sell square diamonds anymore like the ring you wanted shows" ok?? Don't you think he should of told me that before making the ring?? He told me to take it home for a month and try to get "used" it. A few days go by and I then notice the center stone was completely sideways and moving.. I freaked out and went to have him fix it and his wife's response was "Diamonds all move the first few months of owning a ring" I talked to multiple people and never have their stones moved and they've had the ring for years. He told me if he went in to fix the stone that it would cause more problems for the ring.. He then told me it was "fine" I wouldn't leave until he fixed the stone. My fiancé went to pick the ring up after work, when he came home I wanted to scream the ring had gouges out of the metal, small diamonds on the bands were different colors and the bands didn't fit flush with each other so now I'm stuck wearing them separate. I called and the wife said "you've came back too many times for us to fix it anymore there is nothing we can do" EXCUSE ME.. every time I came in it's because of a mistake you guys have made. Tried to call back and leave a message and they still have yet to return my call which was now over a month ago. Very very very disappointed. You can definitely tell the rings...
Read moreWe needed a new ring resized bigger and a new large watch band resized. I have resized all of my watch bands on my own but this particular one was extremely tough to get the link pins out & had a complicated link system. I investigated many places. I was very troubled by the negative reviews at the very big chain at Jared for example. I also noticed all the great reviews like on google for Star Jewelry, right in the neighborhood. I had that preconceived notion to mostly trust the big name stores, but the reviews seem to trend to the contrary. Funny, I received a very nice flyer in the mail from Star Jewelry while deciding, offering an additional discount. I decided to give them a try.
Well I must say I am 120% completely satisfied I chose them. They have been doing this for decades, have the experience. They are very friendly and put you at ease. They performed our work quickly. The quality was not just good, but even better than expected. And I must say, they charged me less than I was expecting. I was shocked. How often can you say that about anything? No extras, no surprises, no last minute upcharges at pickup to try to gouge you for more. So, to be honest, I did experience a big surprise at pickup , they charged me less than originally quoted. wow!
They are not forced to undergo that assembly-line quotas to crank out work and hurry through your piece like bigger chain stores might be. Later I thought about it and pondered, at bigger stores you never see or know who’s doing your work, maybe even rotating the behind the scenes jewelers who actually do the work, may send it out to their other stores or shops, or they might try to cut costs by hiring the less experienced lower paid jewelers to maximize profits.
I know where we will be sending any future work to now. I’m glad I discovered a jewelry store I can trust and not have to worry about. And it supports your local community instead of those big...
Read moreIn all honesty, before I saw the reviews, I thought Star Jewelry was some run-down place where the people were dishonest and just looking to rip people off. But I do trust other Yelpers, and I also love local small businesses, so, off to Star I go. Anna was so warm and welcoming, and her husband Gary is an artist and certainly knows what he's talking about given his extensive experience (just check out their website).
For one thing, my husband had a family heirloom ring that had broken from wear for about 100 years. When I took it to a bigger store even closer to my house that is clearly full of sales people, not actual jewelers. They said in order to reinforce it, they would have to cut a portion of the ring off, which normally wouldn't be a big deal, except the inscription cannot be replicated and by cutting part of the ring off, it would cut off the inscription and for way more expensive than I was expecting. Gary said he can reinforce it by placing some gold over the ring instead of cutting a part of it off and for way less than what the other place had quoted me. I was obviously nervous, but it turned out perfect! The ring was reinforced, the inscription was still there, completely intact.
With that awesome experience, we decided to get a family ring there with all 4 of our birthstones. Between Gary and I, we designed it. He made a wax mold, then handcrafted it, all in less than 4 days and at a very reasonable price. It is truly gorgeous and definitely one of a kind. It is now my most prized possession. Check out...
