I don’t like leaving reviews like this.
I’m a huge bubble tea fan, and I was excited when this KFT location opened a couple years ago. However, every time I would get a drink, not only would the boba taste very stale and old, but the drink would have a weird aftertaste. And mind you, I’ve been to a bunch of other bubble tea places including other KFT locations.
I stopped coming here for a couple years but decided it give it one last chance today. I went inside and I was the only customer in the store so I didn’t think the drink would take too long to make. I emphasised to the barista my previous concerns, but she assured me that the boba would be freshly made and I would only have to wait 5 minutes.
18 minutes later, my drink was ready. Honestly, I don’t mind waiting if it means good, fresh bubble tea. I got the cocoa cream wow milk cap with boba, medium sized, for $8.22 (it’s $5.99 at other KFT locations)
However, I do not know what the wait was for as the drink seemed like it was made two days ago and the boba seemed like it was made last week.
It’s very unfortunate that they still haven’t improved their quality in all these years. It seems like this location tries to cheapen out by overcharging and not making fresh drinks and boba.
I hope things will change in the future. I love going to KFT locations. I’ll be avoiding this specific one in the near future.
EDIT: I saw the owner’s response. The bubble tea place down the street, Bambu, makes fresh boba within 5 minutes, so I don’t buy that 30 min response. The barista working was not new; she was my barista when I paid a visit last year as well.
EDIT 2: It seems like the owner edited out the original reply after my initial response. Here is the owner’s original reply to my review for which my first edit was responding to: “Sorry for the experience We had a new person and the bubble needs resting for 30 minutes and if not they are not good”
Only doing this for the sake of...
Read moreMy wife’s experience today: “I was super excited to have a location open close by. I went to get my all-time favorite Cocoa Cream Wow. I always get this drink in other locations without ice because I love my tapioca super soft, and I have a sensory issue with chewy tapioca. The lady behind the register asked if I wanted regular milk or lactaid (other locations I go to serve this drink as lactaid only, so I thought it was interesting they offered more options) I asked for one regular and one lactaid, both with no ice. The lady then told me there’s a lactaid milk shortage nationwide (couldn’t find anything online indicative of such shortage now that I look) and they can’t sell the lactaid version without ice. This means if they don’t put ice they have to add more milk. I opted out to getting both regular (was willing to withstand the pain to satisfy the craving) without ice. She confirmed my order and everything was fine until I got my order with both drinks having ice. I told the lady that took my order I asked for no ice and she turned around and spoke to the other person (it appears that they’re both the owners of the place). The guy told me they don’t recommend selling this drink without ice because it needs it. I told them that I always get it without ice and prefer it that way. But they continued to insist that it is not sold without ice and I couldn’t reason with them. I’m annoyed because they were dishonest. They could have told me from the beginning they don’t want to sell without ice instead of having me go through all the hoops and end up waste my money and time. They appear to be skimping out on the ingredients and are trying to cut costs in the expense of the customer. Even the tapioca and sugar mixture was less than what other locations usually include in this drink. Never coming...
Read moreWe went here 8 minutes before they closed (on a Sunday so they closed at 6) and we had no idea. They let us know after we had started ordering. They said it was fine so we continued our order. My sister got a large taro milk tea with bubbles and egg pudding. I got a large mango green tea with mango popping bubbles. At no point did they tell us they were out of product. Obviously we were charged for our extras (the bubbles and pudding). They handed us the drinks without the bubbles in the milk tea and with jellies in my mango green tea. That’s when we found out they were out of some of their products. I had to request for them to add something to make up for my sisters milk tea not having bubbles. They added extra custard but it wasn’t even a full amount. There is significantly less than there has ever been. They gave me maybe 5 popping bubbles and the rest as jellies. If I wanted jellies I would’ve asked for them. I appreciate them trying to fix it but they should have asked for what I wanted instead. At the end of the day, they should’ve told us they were out of products and were about to close when we walked in. We were ready to leave and go to another location with no complaints. It is extremely disappointing to waste away $13 for something we can’t even enjoy. I did not want to make a big deal there since I was appreciative of them still serving us but it was thoroughly disappointing and I honestly wish they had not served us. I would not suggest to come here unless they had just opened since they won’t tell you if they’re out of anything. I am thoroughly displeased and will not recommend this...
