Ambiance and Atmosphere: House of Umami Ramen feels like stepping into a cozy ramen wonderland. The modern decor with warm lighting makes you feel like you're in a chic noodle sanctuary. The seating is spacious enough to avoid elbow wars with your neighbors, and the background music is just right – not too loud to drown out your conversation, but not so soft that you start hearing your own stomach growl.
Menu and Food Quality: The menu is like a treasure map for your taste buds, with options for meat lovers, vegetarians, and even picky eaters. As a vegetarian with a seafood and fish allergy, I was thrilled to find a vegetarian ramen option. However, the plot twist came when I discovered their molten eggs are bathed in a pork-based sauce – a bit of a bummer for vegetarians who eat eggs. This left tofu as my sole protein hero. But fear not, the vegetarian ramen was a flavor bomb, and the edamame with angry sauce was a spicy love letter to my taste buds. The strawberry crêpe layer cake for dessert? It was like a sweet hug in cake form.
Service: The service here deserves a standing ovation. Although the bartender remained a mystery, they were fantastic. Kayla, the manager, was like the fairy godmother of customer service, magically making our experience delightful. She answered all our questions with the patience of a saint. Savannah, our waitress, was equally wonderful, ensuring our dining adventure was smooth and enjoyable. They made us feel like VIPs, minus the red carpet.
Value for Money: For the quality and quantity of food, House of Umami Ramen offers great bang for your buck. The portions are generous, so come hungry or be prepared to leave with a food baby. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the tasty dishes and stellar service. While vegetarians might feel a bit limited, the overall experience is worth every penny.
Cleanliness: The cleanliness here is top-notch. The dining area, restrooms, and even the open kitchen sparkled like they were auditioning for a cleaning product commercial. It's clear that hygiene is a priority, which only adds to the positive vibes of the place.
Special Notes or Highlights: Special shoutout to the edamame with angry sauce – it's the appetizer equivalent of a spicy, sassy friend who always livens up the party. And don't miss the strawberry crêpe layer cake; it's a dessert dream come true. Kayla and Savannah's exceptional service deserves another mention. They made our visit memorable and fun, proving that great service can turn a good meal into a great experience.
Conclusion: House of Umami Ramen is a delightful spot with a lot to offer. Despite some limitations for vegetarians, the overall experience is a win. The diverse menu, excellent service, and delicious dishes make it worth a visit. I hope they expand their vegetarian options in the future to cater to even more dietary...
Read moreWow! Just Wow! What a fantastic meal. I don't even know where to start. The building is inviting and eye-catching both inside and out. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted by the friendliest hostess I have encountered in some time. The dining area is laid out in pleasing fashion with different options of booths, tables, and counter space. All of it lovely.
Okay, on to the food. We ordered 2 tapas, the avacod bomb, and 3 chicken boa buns. Perfect size and price for them. The bites were alive with flavor. If we hadn't planned on having entrees, we would have ordered more. They were that good. I can't wait to try their others.
Moving on to the entrées. I order the Tantanmen ramen looking forward to the heat it brings. It delivers. Excellent size and flavors. So good. My son had the Chicken Shio Ramen, loving every bite. The saltiness was on point, and he loved the molten eggs. The wife had eyed up the cold bowls before we sat down, picking the spicy salmon option. She had been wanting to try poke for some time and was not disappointed. All in all three excellent meals.
All the portions on the entrées were perfect. Not too much, and not too little. Also the saltiness and spiciness of the ramen were much better than other places I have visited. I can't rave enough about this place.
After all that, we managed to save room for dessert. Having a hard time choosing one, we ended up getting three different ones. The strawberry mochi, tempura cheesecake, and green tea crepe cake. Each one was both delectable in taste and please to your texture senses. We all had our own favorite and couldn't pick the "best." I would try all of them for yourself.
Lastly, I want to give a shout-out to our awesome server, Keith. He was helpful and knowledgeable with the menu, which helped us make some informed decisions for tapas and dessert. Great waiter.
There are other little things I am missing, like the owners, managers, and cooks going from table to table to check on their patrons. Or the neat bar tucked inside that made a great waiting area while your table was being set up. All in all, it was a great dining experience.
I included my check to show the prices and what was ordered. It was all spot on. Great food for good prices. I wish I had taken a few more shots of the food, like the tapas and other desserts. They were too inviting to slow down!! Next time for certain.
100% recommend. 100% will be back.
It's been a year since my original review and we have been back here multiple times. We have never had any issues on service or quality. Even for take out. Today was no difference. Our sever Jeremy was pleasant, prompt and attentive. Well done. Our food was amazing. I will continue to visit this establishment and recommendations...
Read moreShort Explanation: If you're looking for a fantastic ramen spot that hits all the marks, great drinks, great food, great service, and great atmosphere then House of Umami is the place for you. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Long Explanation: The manager on staff the night we went was Steven and he made us feel super comfortable. My wife suffered a TBI in a car accident we were in so she gets very anxious going out to places so I have to choose wisely when we go. I was able to place her walker off to the side. We set at the bar and although our waiter was Cherish and she was nice, everyone was nice. The hostess kept checking on us and other waitresses. Even the bar tender Tyler was great and made absolute fantastic drinks. My favorite was the Fiji Mai Tai but we also had strawberry saki🤌🏾, and a halboru Japanese highball which was super melo. We sampled different sushi rolls which were prepared on the spot and super fresh...they even had a A5 Wagyu roll that was wonderful. The flavors can suit most palettes to the new forming palletes as well as the mature tastes palettes. The ramen broth tasted as if it was carefully crafted for richness and the ingredients played perfectly with the noodles which were also cooked perfectly. It arrives hot but not too hot where it over cooks the noodles but hot enough so it remains warm the entire time you eat. The bang bang chicken was also very tasty and so was the Unadon...which was a favorite.
I rarely leave reviews because I rarely find service that is worth speaking on...but when I do I believe others would know because we are so quick to say what's wrong first.
Most importantly it wasn't crazy prices...everything was affordable. So I definitely think anyone reading this should try this spot. If you like rich soups you'll love the ramen, if you a chicken nugget person you'll love the bang bang chicken....if youre a sushi person...it's prepared fresh on the spot, and if your a drinks person they have good music and great drinks to go along with it.
Lastly we tried a tempura cheesecake which was surprisingly amazing...gives you State Fair....elephant ear vibes....with a fantastic cheesecake inside. That might be a bad description but it tasted like nostalgia and deliciousness. Anyway...whoever stayed this long to read...make your way and satisfy your appetite at...
