Picked up a bunch of pastries a couple of weeks back as I was visiting friends and family in the area. Not knowing much about the area I googled Persian bakeries and this was one of the places that came up. I picked a variety of pastries in multiple boxes and one for myself so I could taste it for myself. By the time I got to eat mine it had been out of the fridge and entire day. And Ruben temperature it was in particularly satisfying. While it tasted just fine I was expecting it to be lighter and fluffier. It may not be fair because I'm comparing it to possibly the best bakery in the Northern Virginia area which I frequent pretty regularly and that has the best case and pastries ever! Since there are quite a few options for Persian bakeries in this area, I'd be trying one of the others if I were to go to the Detroit / Ann arbor area again. Who knows - it may be the best in the area. The people behind the counter were very helpful. They answered all the questions I had about the pastries and were happy to pack the pastries the way I wanted them in as many boxes as I needed. Read moreCanton is so lucky to have this place! there are lots of average places to find baked goods in Dearborn. The bread is above average. Soft and fresh you can tell the ingredients are quality. The people who work here are so friendly. The pastries are better than that "famous" pastry place that is over priced, over crowded and less than fresh. I loved the pistachio pastries that tasted like they were just made. The phyllo was crunchy, not oversweetened and each layer had a distinct crunch.
I will not be driving back to Dearborn because the people in here are friendly and don't just smash the pies and pastries into a container. They seem proud of their products and they should be. They are what I will use to compare any similar product.
The spinach pies are fresh and the dough is soft. It is a lemony mouthful. The meat pies have a nice flavor too.
Try them once, you won't want to go...
Read morei got pita some bread fresh out of the oven. it was soft and had a beautiful aroma. you could taste the bloom of the risen bread. they took time to let it rise and build a great flavor.
I loved the great pricing on the meat and spinach pies. they were very soft, unlike the other places I have bought which became hard very quickly. I loved the spinach pies. the delicate lemon flavor and the soft dough made me regret not buying 2 dozen.
I had the cashew and pistachio bakalava. it was crunchy, not soggy. the flavor was soft and sweet rose water which did not detract from the pastry flavor. I don’t need to go back to Dearborn because this place is so good. quality ingredient give expert care. They have set a new standard. I won’t settle for...
