I love the venue, but the manager lied to us and is very difficult to contact. When we met her, she said she would set up the tables for us, take care of stacking them back, and even getting the trash taken care of for an extra fee. We were in! We signed the contract and made a deposit. When I called a month before our wedding to pay the rest in full, I checked with Lauren Chester, the manager, to make sure we were still set with table set up and I even made sure I had the right way to send her the table chart. She told me everything was good to go. THEN I got an email from her a few hours later saying "I didn't want to correct you over the phone, but..." She said she would be out of town that weekend and I would have to find someone else for the tables and the trash. Lauren, you wouldn't have been correcting me, you would have been correcting yourself. She said they normally don't help with the tables and that she was doing me a favor. There's no way I could have known that when all she ever told me was that she could get them set up for an extra fee. I feel like Lauren gave me the bait and switch to get me to sign up for the venue. Does she do this to all the brides? What would have happened if I didn't check back with her multiple times and then I show up at the venue with no tables? She has been consistently difficult to get in touch with. I really wanted this venue, so I kept calling her for weeks to get an appointment to see it. Then after our wedding, I had to call her for weeks to get a call back because we had questions about our security deposit (which was deducted $50 for a piece of tape on the wall and the tables needing restacking.) The venue is beautiful and a truly DIY style place. You have to do all the planning and find your own help, but the location, price, and history of it is wonderful, granted, you have the hurdle of an incompetent manager...
Read moreI put a deposit down about 4 months ago. We are planning to have our wedding in exactly a week. In the beginning I had been dealing with Joni and she was great!! She left and Lauren took her place. I called just to see when I could go to the place so I could just get some measurements and no answer so I left a message. No one called me back. I called a few days later and she answered I wanted to get a code so I could get in she gave it to me and that was it. Then I called her about a month before my date of my wedding no answer so left a message. I wanted to know when I was supposed to pay the last deposit. No call. I then called again and she answered and then she told me so I told her it would be a couple weeks so cool. She sent a email saying she would be out of town and that if I called she would call me back to make the payment. I called and left message no call back. Then I called again and left message still no call. By now we have about 10 days left and still have not secured our venue. I just gave up and decided to find a different venue. I am upset with the lack of professionalism and no follow up still to this day!!! It’s ridiculous this is a big day for us not to mention I am out of a lot of money already. I was very excited to see the venue and see what they had to offer I even had my future mother in law fly up to Georgia to come with me and my fiancé and my mother. When we got there, they had another party inside. Lauren greeted us in then proceeded to go back to the other party for a while. When she returned she showed us around inside then we went outside and she showed us where we would get married if we did it outside but then she told us that she was going to go back inside to check on the other party and never came back to us. Me and my fiancé even went inside to ask questions and prices but she was to busy with the other party to knowledge us. It made me feel so terrible that I just wanted to leave and never return, she said she would email us information but we never got any emails at all. I felt so out of place and not prioritized that even if we decide to have our wedding here we still wouldn't be prioritized on our wedding date.
