My first time back to the movie theater was 7/3/22 since before COVID in 2019. Why do people enjoy the movie theater in the hot muggy summer? To enjoy a movie WITH air conditioning. I visited the theater, bought my ticket and walked into theater number 5 to see The Black Phone. It was about 85 in there, hot and muggy with the smell of old rancid whatever goes into the popcorn. There were 2 white, plastic, low grade, square fans in there that i heard throughout the movie. When I came back out to ask about this the employees were apologetic and gave me a free ticket to return. BUT will the theater have AC or heat when I return? I'll never know. The staff thanked me for not screaming and cursing but I sure wanted to. It was an awful experience but I had to sit through it because my husband and friend didn't seem to mind it. It would be nice if you had a sign BEFORE you take people's money advising them of this horrifying experience. Can't say for sure I'll take another chance of having a whole half day ruined. Read moreStumbled on this little hidden gem while checking out the University Mall, while the mall wasn't that impressive this movie theater was awesome. The staff (owners?) were all very nice, prices are insane 2 tickets, fountain drinks, popcorn and candy for just under 30$ and they offered us refills on our way out. The theater was very clean with no sticky floors and the seats were amazingly comfortable. Read moreThey do not have recliners. They do have cheap tickets. Approx. $8.50 per ticket as of 11 May 2022. There are other discount tickets and child prices as well. I was disappointed about the seats - not uncomfortable, but I genuinely wanted to recline. The theater was almost empty so that was a perk as well.
