EDIT: I thought maybe I reviewed this too harshly since maybe they weren't aware the warmers weren't working the way they were supposed to, but I will not be changing my review now since I HAVE FOOD POSIONING. I'M NEVER EATING HERE AGAIN, AND I WOULD ADVISE YOU ALL TO AVOID THIS PLACE. Telling the staff about it did nothing. Nor did the server bring the manager to our table. We promptly left, and I'm now living in my bathroom until further notice. Well done, Qin Guam.
I came here for lunch due to my friend raving about this place. The price is decent, and the selection is amazing!! Finally, a Chinese restaurant with more than Lo Mein, fried rice, and sesame chicken! I was so excited.
I filled my plate, and sat down. I regret taking the few bites I took, and I dread the two hour trip I'll have to take home. I will be immensely surprised if I don't have food poisoning. The food from the buffet, unless it is freshly made, is cold/room temperature. The sushi was room temperature, and most of them had fish in them.
We tried explaining to the waiter what was going on, and advised he should make his supervisor aware that the warmers in the buffets were not working properly. He smiled, nodded, and apologized for the inconvenience. He advised if I would like hot food, I should go to the Hibachi table, and have a cook prepare some noodles that will be hot and fresh. FYI, the bowl of eggs weren't sitting on ice. They were sitting to the side. The plates of raw meat/seafood were on ice, but they weren't really cold, and they had a funky, slimy texture. I didn't eat anything else there since their food wasn't up to code heating/cooling-wise.
This is so sad, because the selection here is amazing. I hope they get this fixed soon, and I hope I don't have...
Read moreThe food here is good and the people are nice, however, I had a bad experience concerning food sanitation recently and havent been able to go back since.
I saw the guy who was working the hibachi grill come from sweeping the floors and use his bare hands to put some noodles that were hanging out of its tray back in the tray with the rest. I'm not saying that he didn't wash his hands after sweeping (he could have), but that is besides the point--this is unsanitary, because he used his bare hand and because the noodles he put back in the tray were hanging on the bar. All the other cooks/workers either wore gloves and/or used utensils to move food from one place to another.
I went to just eat the noodles off the regular bar and they had none, so the lady suggested trying the hibachi grill, but that of course was not going to happened after what I saw. I would be happy to re-rate and even give this restaurant another try if I get any message from this place concerning fixing this issue of sanitation. The food was good, but they just need to stress the importance of wearing gloves when dealing with food and not putting food that was hanging out on the bar, back in the tray with the rest: especially considering the time of year and how easily...
Read moreThis very good, very popular Chinese Buffet is one of my favorites. I usually eat here once a week and there's something for everyone, literally. They keep the supply of standard meat & vegetable combinations coming out fresh from the back and piled high on the serving buffets. Steamed or fried rice, plus a couple noodle dishes serve well as a base to build your own concoctions - American style. Top these with some of the wide variety of sauces and you can't go wrong, really. Soups are authentic, and I hear the sushi is fresh, too. Here's my usual: Hot and Sour soup topped with Korean Style chicken. Then I go back for fried dumplings, and breaded chicken breast, both covered in red chile sauce and a dash of sweet duck sauce. Next is Chicken and Broccoli on a bed of rice noodles (very thin noodles sir fried with egg, cabbage, and green onions). Egg rolls and crab rangoons are offered, and the last thing I want to mention is the Spicy Sushi - it's a deep fried roll, spicy salmon tasty treat, drizzled with Hoisin sauce or something, I really don't know all what's in this creation but you get the idea. There's everything here under the sun, or solar eclipse, definitely a...
