Took our youngest daughter there for swimming lessons around the age of 6. The instructor took her to the other side of the pool out of my earshot and was dunking her under the water for her to get used to it (she said). I found out later she was crying the whole time and the instructor told my daughter if she didn't stop crying she would force me to leave the pool area, which of course would have never happened. After a good half hour of this they got near the ladder and my daughter grabbed it and came out of the pool screaming for me and I started towards her. I was on the other side of the pool and before I could get to her the instructor grabbed the back of my daughters swim trunks (pulling them down) to stop her from running to me and while walking behind her walked her off into the deep end of the pool causing my daughter to go under the water while not being in the instructors arms. About the time the instructor got my daughter back up and in her arms I was at the side of the pool and reached down and grabbed my little girl from this monster of an instructor. My daughter was absolutely hysterical, like I had never seen her. My oldest daughter had learned the year before from a different instructor there named Gail and did shed one tear. Gail would work with the kids at their own pace to get them over their fear of the water but this instructor wanted to force the fear out of them. Gail was more of a nurturer and this other instructor was more of a drill sargent. To add insult to injury she followed us to the dressing area and was waiting for us just outside the door when we got done dressing wanting her money for the lesson. She set us back months in teaching our daughter to swim. She wouldn't even go in a swimming pool the rest of the summer. I left at least 5 messages for the manager (Dawn I think, maybe Dana) without the first returned phone call. I thought she at least needed to know the different teaching styles between Gail and this new instructor and what we went through. After a couple of weeks of calling, I gave up. In reality I guess no one really cared. Poor oversite and customer care at this place. If you are going to advertise teaching kids to swim you have to make sure the people hire are up to the task and not ignore any possible complaints or...
Read morePoor member service and raggedy equipment, air conditioning ducts and old heaters literally rusted through overhanging the pool area. Dumbbell racks that have no clearance so you smash your fingers trying to rerack them. I tried paying $25 dollars for a week long membership (that's around 70% more expensive than the Annual Membership), having asked at the time if I could bring guests to the pool. They said yes, so a couple days later I brought my son, and asked again, showing them my temporary membership card which explicitly refers to me as a "Member: __". The employee was super polite and said sure thing, that's $5 for the guest. The next day I came with guests, (incidentally that family has an Annual Membership but the holder wasn't present, so I assured them the could come with me)... only to be embarrassingly and rudely told "You're not a member, you can't have guests". When I explained that two other of their colleagues told me otherwise, they were rude and insisted that I should "read the sign"... and didn't care that they had sold me a card that refers to me as explicitly as a "Member". They clearly didn't care that they lost my consideration of supporting their business further. It's not hard to write a sign or a card that make sense and are fair, so it makes me wonder a lot more about the quality of the rest of...
Read moreThis gym has some of the worst business practices out of a company imaginable. I signed up for a one year membership, quit going here after a month because the equipment was never cleaned and their was no Men's locker room(It was under construction at the time, although I never saw any progress being made). I tried to reach a reasonable conclusion with the staff but was told I was under contract and I had to deal with it. So after a year of being charged $40 a month, I contacted CF to ensure that no more bank withdraws would be made. Only to be informed my one year membership was actually a two year membership with a "Cancellation Option" but I had missed that window of time by a week and would be charged for another year. I tried to talking to anyone and everyone to reach some reasonable conclusion only to be hung up on by a manager. Now I receive a notice from an attorney regarding $2,400+ that I somehow owe to Club Fitness? $2,400 for a $40 a month gym membership? Places like this should be boycotted until business owners learn that treating people in a reasonable manner is the only way to...
