Have been staying in this hotel a couple times a year since BEFORE they became a Quality Inn. Have always been very pleased with the staff, room etc. However, this past weekend was my last visit to this hotel. Had to wait for our room to be ready as they had been very busy according to the front desk clerk. We were late for our scheduled meeting and so when the room was ready we rushed to unload our belongings and get our little dog settled in. We found the door to the room was left wide open and when we asked about it, the housekeeper said she knew we were waiting to get in the room, so she left it open for us. We QUICKLY unloaded and got our dog settled in and rushed off for our meeting. We got back to our room LATE that night and since the room had been closed up for several hours...when we walked in.....it was OBVIOUS why the housekeeper had left the door open. The room smelled HORRIBLE. But we decided we could live with it for one night and began to unpack, undress, etc. That is when we noticed some of the many issues with the room. Stains on chair and settee....very damp carpet in sink area....leak in tank of commode...silverfish bug in bathroom...dirty door in bathroom...what appeared to be dried, smeared blood on front edge of toilet seat...stained shower curtain...walls in bath area covered in marks, scuffs...tub faucet and shower head about to fall out of the wall. The breakfast the next morning was about the NORM for free breakfasts at hotels but the morning desk clerk (male) had an "attitude" that was less than pleasant. We had a late checkout because we were attending Easter services at a Pastor friends church. When we got back and got our dog and our belongings loaded I went to the front desk to discuss all the problems. By that time, the same clerk who had checked us in was back at work and she was very pleasant, as she had been the day before. I gave her a list of all the problems with the room and told her that paying almost $100 a night (we had paid extra for our pet) was an unreasonable price for such an awful room. YES...I had a pet in the room. She is a 10 lb. breathing ball of fur that is CLEAN and VERY well trained. No barking, no accidents. I explained that I expected to pay for the room as we indeed had slept and bathed there..but the price was WAY TOO MUCH for the room to be so bad. The clerk discounted our room rate and I felt that was very fair so I am not complaining about the price as compared to the room. My reason for writing this review is so others know 2 things.
#1....This hotel has been SOLD....which probably explains why the maintenance and housekeeping has declined.
#2....Based on this most recent overall experience at this hotel...I would NOT recommend it any longer. I HAVE recommended...
Read moreI've read other reviews and here to say it is apparent this place is under new management and really cares about quality and customer service. Here are the good things I can say, keep in mind I have only had the pleasure of one King non smoking Room, and cannot speak for other rooms.
First thing I noticed was the exterior of the building had a clean pleasant charm to it. Once entering the building I could tell it had quality tile flooring of a nice design one as a skilled tradesman can say it was definitely not cheap.
This honestly should be listed first but going by order. The staff was very nice, and pleasant to speak with. I believe they truly deserve this.
While the place did not seem too packed it wasn't exactly vacant either. It seems to be quite and respectful here.
The room has definitely been renovated like the rest of the building has. New laminate or LVP flooring, nice coated counters for the sink, and tv, some kind of quality stone, maybe not marble, but something nice. The lighting fixtures are the nice new boxed design. The covers are not cheap. New mirrors, the one over the sink has a backlight around the edges. Phone, and alarm clock. Front of the fridge and microwave have stainless steel on them. A nice picture is on the wall and the curtains are like the rest of the room equally nice. I could say more good things about the room.
Brand new A/C unit in the room.
I forgot to mention the beautiful California style knockdown texture on the ceiling. It adds a very nice touch in my opinion. The wall is textured as well, but it is not knockdown.
Cons - none the only thing I could mention if I were to knit pick would be some trim shows a little age but not too much. For the price this place is well worth it, and then some. If anyone were to think about getting snobby about some tiny things like that they should probably book a 4-5 star hotel that offers things within that price point like giant breakfast buffets and arcades because this place isn't lacking much other than that. I'm very impressed personally, and wish the owners the best as they...
Read moreIf you stayed here within the last few weeks in rooms 102 or 200 you undoubtedly came in contact with a Bed Bug or 2,000. Hotel owner/ manager has yet to call me. I had to got to urgent care because the bites were so bad i was in tears. And i also had to stay in town an extra sue to the inability to travel after having to get treatment and shots from urgent care which prohibited me from returning home on time and causing me to miss work. Still not sure what to do with my suit case or 3 outfits which really should be discarded. So as of right now a 2 night trip at this hotel has costed me $193.00 in hotel fees, god knows what the urgent care bill will be along with the medication and follow up visits with my doctor oh and my clothes will appropriately end up costing several hundred dollars as well. I highly suggest the hotel owner get back in touch with me to settle this matter and reimburse me for everything..... the health department was closed today but I will call them tomorrow if you once again do not get in touch with me and I’m quite sure you establishment will be closed for a time period while you handle this matter. No one should have to be this miserable and in pain and fighting with the itching trying not to cause sores. And do not give me the line that your staff did and try blowing me off with a line about the exterminator coming out weekly. That’s a lie or either you don’t pay them to take care of the bedbug issue. And yes I know for a fact these bugs were bedbugs as I found them crawling behind and under the mattress when I pulled it back along with the carcasses of their family members. Your staff wouldn’t even come with me to look at the room and all the extra filth i found upon moving the bed and some...
