I am completely baffled at how bad this place is. Casino Fandango used to be a pretty cool place to gamble, to eat, and to have a great time. Well man has that changed. I have so many negative things to say.... it upsets me so much. For starters, my entire family have alway enjoyed the Rum Jungle Buffet, we love the cheaper nights or well used to. Over the course of one month I have had nothing but horrible service. I always frequent the pasta station because they have always made anything the guest wanted but not anymore. In the past, every employee that has worked the pasta station has always attempted to look in the back, to try and appease the guest. Thomas however doesnt seem to care about his job, or customers in general. On three separate occasions I kept an open mind but each time I was left with disappointment. I went up to the pasta station and was greeted by Thomas, one of the line cooks in charge of the crepes and pasta. The only pasta on display was Tortellini, I asked Thomas if he had any other kind of noodles, and he immediately shuts me down and shakes his head... uhm okay? The second time I tried to keep an open mind yet again... Thomas was working that night and he was not busy, so I thought I'd try asking if there was any noodles in the back... yet again, he shot me down! I went ahead grabbed some pre made cheese tortellini to the right of the pasta station and returned to Thomas to get some cheese, this is where he tells me "sorry about the noodle thing, I have been begging them to buy noodles but they just wont!" I just couldnt believe it, I returned to my table and just couldnt enjoy myself.... three times in a row! And each time I got shot down by THOMAS!! I understand that sometimes the buffet wont have what you want, but heres my opinion, all three times Thomas was working, all three times there was only one choice of pasta: Tortellini, Thomas never smiled and when a customer would come up he would be very short and rude... One other major thing has changed at Fandango and let me just say the change does NOT benefit the Guest! The Club Fandango has completely "revamped" the players card program but it only seems to benefit the high rollers.... Below are the changes effective January 1st 2019 Club Fandango has changed EVERYTHING about the Players club: 1a. There is no longer the standard three levels of play. Read moreThis used to be a decent local casino! But it has gone hill fast. I never win here anymore, it doesnt matter what i am betting... the service is mediocre at best, no matter what time i have gone gambling i can never find a cocktail waitress... and if I do, i order a drink and it takes at least 20 minutes to get served and if you dont tip them good enough, they wont come around as often. I used to love the buffet here, the discount nights were usually the nights i would come, but the service is not that good... my family and i have been frequent customers to the buffet sense they opened about 15 or so years ago... i never had an issue until the last couple of months. I have always loved the pasta station and they used to have a couple options you could choose from, however that isnt the case anymore. The last three times i have came here, i have left disappointed. I would always ask the chef if they had regular noodles in the back (Fettuccini, linguine, spaghetti) and there has never been an issue, they would always look! Well, you can forget about that, Thomas who is now in charge of the pasta station will NOT go out of his way to even check! The last 3 times i have went up to his counter, there has only been one selection (beef tortellini) has a scowl on his face... and i asked if he had any noodles in the back and he shook his head and said no. Then went on to say, "that he has been trying to get them to buy noodles for the longest time, but they just wont" i wanted to call BS so bad, because like i mentioned earlier, i have been coming to this buffet sense the beginning and i have never had an issue, i remember when Meg worked the pasta station, she would always go back and at least check! The buffet also keeps going up in price they have now raised the discount nights to $12.99, which is not a big deal but still... the food seems to never have a different flavor, and tastes the exact same every time... Casino Fandango really has declined and even more now then ever: All of the following were effective January 1,2019 CLUB FANDANGO: Now has Five Different Player Tiers instead of the Three from before. The Tiers are: You're CLASSIC Right Away: Start enjoying your benefits immediately when you earn points.. Free Play and other Goodies will soon Follow! Everything Listed Above is just a few of the benefits offered..
The way i took it when i first saw the benefits.... the Casino cares more about the high rollers compared...
Read moreAfter being ignored at the guest services counter at Lucky Strike, we came to the Fandango only to be ignored at the bar. The bartender ignored us for at least 5-7 min then two guys came and sat down next to us, and the bartender immediately came over to them and asked if they wanted anything. Then he walked away and didn’t even look at us. I honestly don’t understand why this happened and I’m very disappointed.
In the last 9 months or so, I’ve had a positive experience with the cocktail servers on the floor as opposed to at the bar itself. If you sit at the bar, it’s apparently a $20 buy in & .25 cent minimum bet. Doesn’t always feel friendly to sit at the bar here. The floor is much better, and now that they’re done renovating it’s much nicer to navigate. Their machine selection is by far the best in Carson—both a wide range of the older games as well as the new. They don’t seem to be phasing out the older games like many of the casinos are now. So I appreciate that aspect very much. They also have penny 4 card keno, which is great. Overall, positive place. Bar is sometimes not so great, but the rest makes it worth it regardless. The restaurant staff is pretty great too—their food isn’t as good as I was hoping, & we were told recently that the kitchen closes at midnight even though it’s advertised as being 24/7, so I’m not sure if this is accurate or not. But their...
