Nice store BUT ill mannered customer service representatives and Managers who don’t know how to manage. I used to frequent this grocery back in college when it was a Bi-Lo 2009 and today I decided to visit this location now that itsta Food Lion. I’m a frequent shopper at any Food Lion in the Columbia area. Today I visited store #2801 for the first time in a long time. Like I stated beautiful clean store but BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ONE BAD APPLE (CASHIER #0205 Doris or Dorene not completely sure of her name but the cashier# is accurate ) HAS SPOILED THE BUNCH AND MY EXPERIENCE. I’ve never experienced such disrespect at any Food Lion I have been to. As I approached register #5, Cashier #0205 was sitting on the plastic bag dispenser. I smiled and said hello and gotta a dry greeting back. I requested a beverage not to be put in a bag because I was to drink it. When my request was made it was met with an attitude of “Excuse me what?!?” … I repeated my request of not putting the beverage in a bag. Again that was met with an attitude of her aggressively putting my beverage next to the pin pad. I continued to put my items of purchase on the conveyor belt and Cashier #0205 rung up my items. Once she was finished she asked with an attitude “You got your Food Lion card” … my response was yes and I entered my number on the pin pad. She seemed irritated that I didn’t hand her an actual card and entered my number instead. Once I entered my number the computer was taking its time to register my savings. So I attempted to ask if any savings came of and was cut off by Cashier #0205 saying that “the system was thinking” … while the system “thinking” the bagger was bagging my groceries and placing them in the cart. Once the system finally stop thinking Cashier #0205 gave me my receipt and she thanked the bagger for bagging my groceries. I was parked in the front parking space, while I was putting my grocery in my car Cashier #0205 called out to me saying “ma’am did you forget your foil?” My response was yes and she gave me my foil with an attitude. By this time I had enough of this cashiers undeserving nasty attitude and I said to tell her she needed better customer service skills … her response to me as she walked away “Oh, is that right?!?!?” I was going to let it go but decided to go in and make a complaint to a manager. I entered back into the store and ask for a manager. While speaking to the manager on duty and giving her my complaint about Cashier #0205, Cashier #0205 began to smile at me tauntingly and mockingly and begin to exchange words with another customer about me. The customer Cashier #0205 was talking to began to yell at me across the store in defense of the Cashier then Cashier #0205 began to join the customer in yelling at me about “how she came out and gave me the foil because I forgot it”. I told her she didn’t put it in any of my bags so therefore she forgot to give it to me. When Cashier #0205 began to chime in and yell the manager I was speaking to interjected to refrain the Cashier from yelling at me. The Cashier didn’t listen to her manager the initial point of reprimand but the second time the manager interjected the Cashier stop yelling and exchanging words with me. Things began to escalate between myself and the customer Cashier #0205 recruited to defend her. Before the debacle continued between me and the defending cashier customer , all I was given from your manager was an apology for not having a good experience. I’m not saying that every shopping experience will be a top notch experience but being a former cashier, sales associate, shift leader/supervisor, and assistant manager working in customer service even in my career as a School Counselor, I expect a decent experience when I spend my hard earned money to feed my family. Being a frequent customer of Food Lion I’ve never experienced such disrespect and a lackadaisical apology in all my shoppings at Food Lion. Please keep on better associates for your beautiful store. Associates like Cashier 0205...
Read morePlease talk with your daytime stockers and remind them they shouldn't push tall dollys, stacked so high with crates of bottled soda they can't see around or above, blindly into an aisle and definitely not at such a fast pace it can't be stopped before hitting someone.
There could be kids standing there just like on Feb 17th 2025 around 12-1pm on the far side of the soda aisle (incase you'd like to check your footage). Stocker was a black male late 30s early 40s. I was shopping and had to reach my arm out to push the stockers dolly away from my girlfriend's 4yo daughter as he came barreling around the corner without knowing what was in front of him.
When I told the stocker to slow down, instead of apologizing, he made it sound like I was in the wrong for "just standing there" as he said, aka shopping. No apology from him, just really bad attitude and an accusatory tone towards myself and the child.
I've been going to this store since it was a Bi-Lo and I don't appreciate the inadequate concern for safety or the lack of respect or appreciation towards customers by this stocker.
The weight of the dolly loaded with drinks along with the speed at which he was pushing it (not pulling it which would be safer) could easily break an arm or leg of a small child. This is a serious liability concern for your store.
In your reply to this feedback I hope to read how you're going to correct this issue, otherwise we will be finding a different...
Read moreEvery time l come in here, something advertised for sale isn't in the system when l get to the register. I know enough to say something to the cashier when in the self checkout line to say something because it will ring everything up and overcharge you and then you have to go to customer service like you weren't already online long enough in that location. Anyhow, l tell the cashier that it's not ringing up BOGO (buy 1/ get 1 free) she tells some man who then PAWS THOUGH MY GROCERIES TOUCHING ALL MY FRUIT WITH HIS BARE HANDS to find the item like it's not one the screen in front of us. He then goes to the back and the cashier and l stand there for about 4 minutes. She then proceeded to give me the deal even though he hasn't come back and said anything. When l said just take it off, she says "I'm giving it to you ( like she's doing me a FAVOR) and when l say why did we have to wait if you could just have done that, she snottily replies " l do what I'm told", although no one told her anything when l was there. Too many other Food Lions to utilize to deal with incompetent and attitudes in a recession when I'm counting EVERY NICKLE and it's YOUR ESTABLISHMENTS FAULT THE PRICES ARE CONSISTENTLY INACCURATE. I think they do this because of the large college crowds because NO OTHER Food Lion gives me as MANY HEADACHES AND INCONVENIENCES as the one CLOSEST to...
