Fall 2023 Manament /Owner was so rude I left hungry. In town for biz, drove 20 mins to arrive to Closed sign at 9:45. Closing time was 10 on website. Several tables were still full of people with fresh chips. Acommodating the Management desire to close early, asked if I could just get food to go, bc I had driven 20 mins and GPS had difficulty finding them behind another rest. I worked late and nothing else was serving after 10.

One kind server said have a seat. Another said they don't seat after 9:45. Told Co-owner, "I'd be happy to order take out, but you guys should notify Google you close at 945, not 10. I drove across town to do buisiness before your published closing hour." Tired hungry traveling workers shouldn't be encouraged to head to a restaurant on their website only to have their patronage rejected 15 minutes early, especially when several booths were recently seated.

Co-owner responded angrily "You came in after we turned on the Closed sign!!" He didn't get it. In his mind, it was MY fault that his Internet published closing time is a lie. SMH. He told me EVERY restaurant everywhere stops letting people in 15 minutes before closing time. Maybe in Columbia SC, but not everywhere, Sir.

In fact, the insult is being rude and angry at customers for trying to do business with you during your own published hours. He couldn't care less about reputation. I was REALLY looking forward to Mexican, but figured someone would spit in my food after the owner had such a bad attitude. I went to the grocery...

I know this place has a lot of five stars no matter how much you spent on the decor it doesn’t speak for the food, warning signs when you go into a Mexican restaurant is if they have a taco salad or a burger on the menu, The food looks like slop on a plate presentation isn’t very good ….no matter how color for the plates got this place is an American Mexican joint don’t mistake it for traditional Mexican, I took two friends there and they agreed with my assessment but do you have to serve people what they will buy, Mexican food is very diverse from beef tongue tacos .. chilaquiles there are more delicacies I wasn’t born in the south I did my culinary birria mole I did my culinary training in Texas I’m from California I’ve been to Mexico City that place is pretty ..but that food is what they have to sell here I understand that ,I don’t wanna knock them down but this is not a traditional Mexican restaurant it’s in American Mexican restaurant.. when I mentioned it to the Chef ..I asked him really taco salad I haven’t made that since home cooking education in High School his reply was ,I have to make things that people will buy here do you understand ..and I do once you’ve had real Mexican food you’ll know what I mean I like the outside seating ..oh and one more thing putting guacamole on a cheeseburger doesn’t make it a California burger…And I guess they sell what...

This is gonna be a full food review of this place. From chips, drinks, and food. I will be giving my full honest review of this food.

Let’s start with the chips, the staple of a good Mexican restaurant. I give the chips a 4/10. No salt on the chips and they are on the thicker side. Once you add your own salt it goes up to a 6/10.

The salsa. It was a hit for me. I love some cilantro in my salsa. Gives it that fresh taste that I love. I give it a 7.5/10. The bowls for the salsa are a bit small. I love big cups of this stuff. I could’ve drank it.

Drinks. The waters were fresh and clean tasting which is always nice. The margaritas we had were the skinny margs. Very refreshing drink. Can tell they took their time to make it. Not too strong though so if you’re hoping to get lit, I’d request an extra shot. Margs 7/10

The food. Carnitas with tortillas on the side was awesome. The pork was a little under seasoned in my opinion but the onions had all of the flavor for me. The beans were perfect and the tortillas were warmed for us as well.

The menu The menu needs an update and is a little update and is a bit worn.

The bathroom. It was clean and it was a single bathroom with a diaper changing station. 6.5/10

Customer service. Very friendly staff and met all...

Absolutely Horrid. Ordered dinners to go for 2 people. Both were minuscule portions and the meat was overcooked. One was a steak dinner with cheese over it, but somehow included chicken and no cheese. The other was supposed to be a version of Molcajete, but has 1 flat piece meat for steak and chicken each, and 2 shrimp, no cheese what-so- ever. They included 2 bags of tortillas, but only one tiny container of salsa. Overpriced and pathetic. Never again. Do not waste your time or money with this wannabe Mexican restaurant. They are all pretty decorations and no substance. Update: This is the correct restaurant. You share a building with Marcos on the corner State and Knox Abbott. We'll try again sometime in the next few weeks and update this review if it warrants. We are certainly not looking to get anything for free. Perhaps you just had an off night.

I got the "ultimate chimichanga" with steak and chicken... paid $3 more for the extra meat.... in the pic you see below in the red circle is all the meat that came in my chimichanga.... no exaggeration I really had like 3 small pieces of chicken and no steak but like a little tiny strip or 2... super disappointing. I got a fried tortilla basically with rice on my plate. And this is after we waited 40 mins for are food and they weren't even busy we were 1 of 2 other tables. Will never come and waste my money here again. Once I took a few bites and wasn't getting any meat is when I opened it up to see how much was really in there and it was for real just them 3 little pieces you see in the pic and the rest was just green peppers.
