Do NOT sign up for HOTWORX in WEST COLUMBIA! (Or go if you’re “sweat everywhere”)
UPDATED: Please read her response to this review. I think it speaks to all the things I mentioned. *1st Even if she doesn’t have my compressed ( yet another excuse) that isn’t the customers problem. Stop telling clients you provide things that you don’t. *2. I never hung up on her, I told her I was ending the conversation when she very rudely told me I didn’t have to come back. #3 Her and her staff are flat out LIARS! I told her that my account was overdue because I was unable to get someone during staffed hours to freeze my account. I am a single mother and I do my best to manage everything. I never claimed financial irresponsibility, I informed her I was having a hard time only to express my difficulties in getting in the building. I think it is incredibly poor taste for this owner to speak about a customer like this. I am not sure I’ll ever use another HOTWORX again. The owners that I have met are unprofessional and only concerned with their own profits and not clients progress. It’s really sad. Please beware before you spend your money here. Especially if you’re a single parent doing your best to manage your life and your health for you and your kid. Save yourself from what I went through. I am screenshooting her response to include with a list of other things she has said about me to others in the community. I am shocked that she calls her self a professional and then goes on to slander customers.
I have had bad experiences one after the next. First of all this location stays dirty and poorly maintained. The water fountain has been broken practically all summer. I spoke to the staff on three separate occasions before today and they just keep blaming the owner and corporate. Today the OWNER told me she has “HAD” to buy TWO cases a week herself! Wow… two whole cases…for how many members??? There is ZERO accountability at this location. The bad attitude of the owner has trickled down to the staff. The owner also told me if I don’t like it there because of the water, I don’t have to come but that is suppose a benefit of my Sweat Everywhere membership. (They sell this upgrade to you like your some sort of VIP but it is just to take more money.)
The thing that made me just pick up my things and leave today is the fact that the person in the room with me did not schedule a session (technically I don’t think she has to) she had an UNAUTHORIZED mat and no towel and when I went straight to Addison the manager she did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! LITERALLY NOTHING! I told her then I would write this review and I was giving her a chance to try to do anything to fix these things. All she did was call the owner and lie saying she offered to buy me water! Wow! What really cracks me up is that she can stop what she is doing to call her manager and tell her I said I was leaving a bad review but she can’t do her job and go in there and tell the member that mat is not allowed. Addison has no business being a manager! She has no guts, she passes the blame onto everyone else and she can’t even do simple tasks like purchasing water and filling a machine. To top it all off the OWNER then calls me to inform me how angry she is with corporate about the fountain. She talked on and on about how nothing is her fault or responsibility. She did NOTHING to rectify the situation. She said that Lexington is my home gym and if I don’t like her gym I don’t have to come. Keep in mind, I did not curse at her, scream at her just simply informed of her of the bad service I received and my opinions on the status of “her” gym. She obviously is only in this for money and she is not doing well and taking it out on the members and blaming it...
   Read moreI’ve had a very frustrating experience with this location. Despite calling multiple times during normal business hours, I was never able to reach anyone by phone. I received two voicemails confirming that I should be able to pause my membership, but I was never able to speak with a staff member to actually do so. Now that it's summer and I’m out of the area, I’ve been charged for another month that I can’t use. As a college student, this is an expense I simply can’t afford to waste. I expected better communication and customer service. I had only intended to pause, but I will be canceling once I can reach...

I’ve been to many gyms from commercial to clubs and a lot of times staff can be snobby and come across judgmental.
