Mr. Gabriel took phenomenal care of my uncle, OB. He was a new patient recently transferred from Kessler, and naturally, he was unsure of the experience he would have at a new facility. From the moment Mr. Gabriel began working with him, he showed such attentiveness and care. He had my uncle sitting up comfortably in his wheelchair as he gently groomed and cut his hair with love, patience, and the dignity my uncle has always deserved. Mr. Gabriel’s positive disposition made such a difference my uncle began to smile, and by the end of the grooming session, not only did he look presentable, but he also felt like himself again. Words cannot fully express our gratitude for Mr. Gabriel’s compassion and generosity. God bless you, Mr. Gabriel. Did I mention he’s also a fantastic barber? My uncle said so himself and I couldn’t agree more!
Ongoing Gratitude for an Extraordinary Team – Compassionate, Skilled, and Truly Caring
I want to also express my heartfelt appreciation for the phenomenal care my uncle OB is currently receiving. From the moment he arrived, every member of the staff has gone above and beyond to make sure he is treated with compassion, dignity, and exceptional care.
Nurse Mr. Ahmed has been truly outstanding—professional, hands-on, and consistently attentive. His calm and respectful approach creates a sense of trust and comfort for both my uncle and our family. His dedication is evident in every interaction.
Charge Nurse Mr. Nixon continues to impress with his leadership, compassion, and responsiveness. He not only ensures quality care but also takes time to connect with families and offer support. His presence is deeply appreciated.
We also want to thank the Nurse Director and Shift Supervisors for their unwavering commitment behind the scenes. Their leadership ensures everything runs smoothly, and their approachability and attention to detail truly make a difference in the daily experience.
The entire nursing staff deserves recognition. Each nurse has shown warmth, patience, and a level of care that is truly comforting. You can tell that this is more than just a job to them—it’s a calling.
We are especially grateful to two amazing CNAs: Mrs. Schelie and Mrs. Coretta. Mrs. Schelie is incredibly compassionate, gentle, and dedicated. Her positive attitude, nurturing nature, and professionalism have been a bright light during this journey. Mrs. Coretta brings a calm, loving energy to her care. She treats my uncle as if he were her own family member—always kind, patient, and attentive to his needs. These two women are shining examples of what true caregiving looks like, and we are beyond thankful for their presence.
Additionally, we want to highlight the exceptional work of the Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, and Speech Therapist. Their care plans are thoughtful, their encouragement is uplifting, and their teamwork is helping my uncle make steady progress. They bring both skill and heart to every session.
To the entire team: thank you for surrounding my uncle OB with such a compassionate and capable circle of care. Your dedication means more than words can express. We are...
Read moreThe outside of the home and the grounds are beautiful. It smells clean for the most part (stay away from the pantry) and the physical therapy is great. That's why it gets one star.
The aides, the meals and the nurses are horrible. The facility is terribly understaffed and most of the staff that is there just don't care. I think there are 3 staff members I like. A patient can buzz for assistance and they can wait over 30 minutes for just a cup of ice water. Forget about if they have to go to the bathroom. The aides don't get the patients ready in time for their therapy appointments. I watched an aide promise my mom a cup of ice water and I sat and waited for over an hour to see if the water would come and nothing. That same aide came in and asked my mom if she wanted to go to the bathroom and my mom said she wanted a robe and a new diaper. The aide never came back with either. I ended up helping my mom to the bathroom and she gave up on waiting for the gown and decided to brave using one of her own gowns (she's been having accidents because no aide comes to help her when family isn't there, so she had a fear she would soil her own clothes). The aide finally came back well after my mother fell asleep and when she saw my mom changed herself into her nightgown, the aide gave my mom the excuse she was on a break. Being on break isn't an excuse that someone with limited mobility wants to hear. My mom asked for a sponge bath and they just used a towel with water and neglected her feet. I had to wash her feet with some wipes I had in my purse. It took them over a week to get her medicine dosing somewhat consistent. I could go on but I'm telling you this place is just waiting to get slapped with a huge lawsuit for neglect.
The food is terrible. It looks worse than what you would get in a terrible school lunch. You'll see families bringing food to their loved ones. On the first night the intake nurse warned us on how bad the food was. That should have been a sign for us but I thought she was exaggerating.
If you go in the pantry to get water and ice, don't go near the sink. It smells like dead fish. I brought clorox wipes in to wipe down her table and what not because i was told they never wipe down the tables.
Instead of taking care of the patients by hiring more staff or helping the existing staff, the administration is more worried about guests filling out a ridiculous document making all sorts of covid attestations, taking a temperature and then checking in on an ipad. Don't send your...
Read moreI had a wonderful stay at Alaris Health Cedar Grove and I can't thank them enough for all they did. I have received motherly care from Ms. Bataille. After my therapy she regularly offers me an ice pack or bag even before I can ask for it. She always asks me if I need anything before she goes on break and says goodbye before she leaves. Her motherly care and warm personality make you feel at home. In addition to Ms. Bataille, Ms. Philipps is equally excellent. And Gabriel is a male CNA who always picks up a call, even if it's not his patient. All the staff are very caring and friendly.
I run into some concerns which is pretty normal to all establishment you go to, but Nurse Nichson is always to the rescue. He genuinely cares about my concerns and makes sure that I'm well taken care of at all times. Gracie is a unit secretary and she's also a retired nurse. Saying that she runs the floor smoothly and family asked her question and she can answer all family and patient concern effectively. Shes equally great as Nichson, Evelyn, Alice and others. The nurses explain medication, symptoms in a way you will understand. It not a new building but housekeeping and maintenance clean and maintain the facility around the clock. The garden is very therapeutic and beautiful. Though I did not participate in the recreation, I saw how dedicated they are to providing entertainment for the elderly.
Rehab department is out of this world. They are beyond exceptional. Noel, the rehab director, is very caring, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Everyone works together to ensure the best possible therapy outcomes. The people in rehab are always happy. Robert always ensure that my wheelchair is safe. Of course, my therapists Maria and Sally are miracle workers, and they are very knowledgeable. They believe on me more than I believe on myself. They know how to work around with my fear and anxiety and still able to push me to my full capacity. I am forever grateful for their hard work and dedication. I know without their help, I wouldn't be...
