Attn: General Manager or Franchise Owner,
I took my family to the Fish Grill in Cerritos and was very disappointed on the level of service of one of the Managers. I believe his name was Frank or Fred! I purchased two clam chowder cups and three kids meals. One of them was a shrimp plate and the other was suppose to be a bread fish and fish & chips. First thing that went wrong was the length of time it took to get the fish meals. The second issue is that they brought two fish & chips when I request one and one breaded. I made the cashier aware and she followed procedures and contacted the Manager. Which I was fine with. He apologized and requested a new plate. This item took over 20 minutes and when my son bit into the fish. He made a funny face. By the way my son is six. I proceed to taste the breaded fish myself and noticed that it tasted bad, like it was spoiled. Since there was three pieces. I continued to taste the other pieces. Too make sure it wasn't spoiled. To my surprise, all three pieces tasted the same. At this point it time I contacted the first available employee and told her what happened. She proceeded to contact the Manager again and he came and explained that the fish was prepared in the morning. Instead of apologizing and agreeing with me. He then proceeded to say that the fish was over cooked and that he would bring a new order. Which I was okay with. Because I understand that sometimes things like this happen. But after waiting more that 30 minutes and no signs of the new order. I was very disgusted with the service. So I decided that I wanted my money back for the plate I never received. Once again the Manager was called out and instead of being apologizing for the horrible service he kind of brushed me on and mumbled an apology and refunded the plate. But not once did he say I am very sorry for all of the inconvenience we might of caused you. Sorry that your son was without a meal. I can guarantee this won't happen again. Needles to say this will be our last time here at this location. I just wanted to make you aware of this problem so that you don't lose anymore customers.
I am a long time customer of the Cypress, Brea and Anaheim Hills location. I was excited when I found out I would have a location near me. Oh was I...

A)Have the right bait B)Find the right spot C)Know how to hold a pole
I believe I have the right bait. I'm good at finding the right spots. Definitely know how to hold my pole ;p However, I tend to be unsuccessful with catching fish. That's why I just go to California Fish Grill, instead!
Another great food option in my homebase of Cerritos, California Fish Grill offers "Fast Casual Seafood" at reasonable prices. A variety of sustainably caught fish & seafood are available for diners to choose from. Chicken is available for those not into aquatic life. I've been meaning to check out the former nearest CFG in Cypress, but now I fortunately have one located just a few blocks away from me.
For my first visit, I decided to go with the charbroiled trout, w/ garlic butter, rice, bread & coleslaw- Two large trout fillets, with creamy garlic butter slathered on top. I chose garlic butter over Cajun-style per the recommendation of one of the staff, & I didn't regret it. The trout was delicious, with the fatty garlic butter enhancing the already fabulous flavor. I chose rice & bread over french fries to avoid anything fried during my meal. The coleslaw provided texture, adding the fun of the crisp crunch with each bite.
The sauce bar has various sauces to compliment your meal, including 2 versions of tartar sauce - House & New England. I loved the House cocktail sauce. Having the sharp bite of horseradish, I used it with everything on my plate. Couldn't get enough of it!
Service was good. I dined here during lunch and, although quite a few people had the same idea I did, the line went by quickly & I didn't wait exhorbitantly long for my dish to be brought out to me. Booths, tables & stool seating are available, including al fresco. Parking can be hard to come by in the very busy Cerritos Promenade.
California Fish Grill, you've hooked this big ol' bass w/ a big ol' ass. How? Your quality fish & seafood paired w/ competitive prices. Fish Taco Tuesday looks like a great value & I definitely want to come back right away to have a go at the rest of the menu, Cajun-style this time.

After the first visit we noticed that the service and attention to detail was really lacking. So we chose to go again and what do you know...they screwed up our order a second time!! The location in Cypress is spot on and I have never had an issue with my orders ever. One evening my wife and I didn't want to drive to the Cypress location so we rolled the dice a 3rd time. Well I will just say that I was extremely pissed!! They screwed up our order AGAIN, and instead of the usual grilled fish on top of strips of grilled zucchini...we were served diced zucchini. When I questioned it they said that it was the way they served it. ALL FRANCHISES HAVE STANDARDS...and that was below the standard that CFG delivers. We will NEVER go back to the Cerritos location because the people working the registers are complete bone heads. We will continue to frequent the Cypress location, never to set a foot in the Cypress location again. I would think that just the fact of having this prime location would inspire them to give excellent service and pay attention to detail. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me, but fool me three times makes...
