Nail Time Spa — Attraction in Chamblee

It's in a questionable area, but the little plaza itself is nice. I'll start by saying my experience was better than that of my boyfriend's that went with me.

We called ahead to make an appointment to avoid waiting, so when we got there we only had to wait a few minutes. I got gel nails, and my boyfriend got a foot spa. I had Cici who was very kind to me, and I believe she did try her best. That being said, the quality was average. The color on the corner of my nail chipped within an hour of me leaving (it was already chipped during application and she tried to cover it - guess it didn't work very well). Also, I got the iridescent powder (not sure what you call it) on my nails to make them shine in the light with a design on top. However, when she was cleaning up the design with nail polish remover, it also removed the shine from my nails, resulting in a very obvious difference in color from where it was accidentally removed. I asked her to fix it, which she tried to do, but it was already ruined and couldn't be saved. My nails had already cured with the UV light so the difference in layers from where she added extra was visible (some areas were barely shiny and some looked as they should). She also cut the skin on my cuticles (on more than one finger) which caused me to bleed, and apologized saying that my "skin was thin"? Again, it happens, but I'd rather go to a place where it does NOT. Overall, I'm happy with the way they look, but it ended up being $55 for gel nails which I feel could've been done better with higher quality elsewhere for the same price. They did not tell me all of the extra charges until I went to pay... If they had told me at the time of service, I could've declined or prepared myself for the extra fees.

Now for my boyfriend's experience: We paid for the more expensive foot spa with shoulder massage and wine included, but never got the massage (like the person next to us who got the same thing did) or the wine. They did offer us the wine at the end AFTER we said we never got it when we went to pay, but we didn't want to spend time sipping from the glass after everything was already over. They wouldn't discount the price even though we didn't receive the full service, and offered us a cola to go, which we also didn't want and didn't think made up for the price difference.

While we were there, a very unpleasant customer was next to us who started to cause a scene with the nail tech she had. I understand that customers can be difficult to deal with. That being said, the way the nail tech responded was unacceptable. He raised his voice at her, stood up, and walked out, never to be seen again. Very unprofessional.

I took my friend here because it was nearby and had positive reviews. My friend got a gel manicure and pedicure but I asked for regular because of the bazillion pedicures I've had in my life, the polish has never, ever chipped off of my toe nails. On my fingernails the polish does eventually chip but I didn't want the long term commitment required by gel. The lady doing my nails started off by telling me that a glitter ombre tip wasn't possible with regular polish, only gel.... Since I've had it done at other places many times, I knew that was false but I figured she just didn't know how to do it personally. While she obviously could've asked someone else, she didn't. So I said okay "just do pink instead." Then I asked her to be gentle trimming my cuticles. She asked "you no want trimmed?" I replied "I want them trimmed but not aggressively, just the parts that are peeling." She finished my nails in less time than it took for my friend to get her cuticles trimmed! I even commented, "wow that was quick!" but my nail tech was already packing up, so I shrugged it off bc the only reason I went was to accompany my friend, but when we get back to the car I notice my cuticles are still just scraggly and peels as when I went in! Two days later my nail polish is CRACKING across the middle of my nails! I have never seen that happen before, let alone 2 days after a so-called professional manicure! (pics attached; you can see it on my index finger and starting to lift up on my ring finger) The next day, a full 3 days after my pedicure, my toenail polish started flaking off! I asked my friend how her gel polish was holding up and she said it was fine. A regular manicure and pedicure aren't that expensive but I am still appalled at the lack of longevity from this establishment and I won't be returning.
