My son took his phone into A & K Mega Service to have his Pixel 3XL screen repaired. A & K ordered a refurbished screen from one of their distributors. He left the phone as a down payment and so they could get it fixed as soon as possible. A couple of days later we got a phone call that his phone was ready for pickup. At that time we were also informed that the front facing camera was broken while the phone was open. A & K claimed responsibility and said that they would replace the camera free of charge.
After he got his phone back he found his Assistant turned off. He turned it back on and found the Active Edge of his phone being activated constantly. When he brought the phone in to replace the camera he told the staff about the Active Edge. They said that they would look into it. They said that it might be that since the camera was removed it may cause it or that the screen they put in may be bad. A & K said that they will try both free of charge because he paid for the screen and the one he got may be faulty.
When he came in later that day to pick it up they told him that the new screen didn’t work either. So they ordered an OEM screen to replace it with and overnighted it so the phone would be fixed as soon as possible.
He came in the next day and dropped it off. Upon returning the phone was back to full working order. A & K informed him that apparently place that had replaced the screen the year before broke a clip that holds the connection for the fingerprint reader together and replaced the clip with tape. Also that the other shop lost a screw from the inside of his phone.
A & K went above and beyond to fix my phone. They didn’t get upset or offended when I told them about the Active Edge. They were very friendly and helpful to my son when it came to his phone and its repairs. Read moreNeeded a moderately technical repair done on my phone. When I called in, seems like they were willing to assist. But after getting there & explaining my issue again..ended up getting charged 3 times what I'd figure was reasonable rate via their technical expertise ability & time they'd have to spend solving my issue. (Aka, and hint, do biz with Ppl who will actually do biz with you no matter who you are!) Fortunately was able to get my issue solved elsewhere; & for free with other service giving me hands-on direction & instruction, plus giving me the confidence in solving issue 4 myself. Now, that's what I call professionalism at its finest!! Note, that place definetely got an awesome review from me! With these guys,..need something done technical besides a cracked screen, phone service issues, or something similar, minor, might not be the place..depending on the circumstances; Also, technical, issues for reasonable prices...might wanna run for the hills to potential customer satisfaction pastures! (to establsihment that actually gives you good advice, and some info. that by time you walk out of their building, you feel so confident, you feel like you could be a tech yourself!) Edit: I came in because my phone I've had for years cracked for the first time. I paid about 240.00 to fix the cracked front, the only damaged area. I was told there was an accident while they were putting it together and that they broke the back. They replaced the back with a budget back for free which I was like, 'that's okay, mistakes happen.' Thinking it would be as good as the original back. Nope. When I took it out of it's case a few weeks later it was cracked on all the corners. I had done nothing different and my old back lasted years. I called and they said they didn't cover cracks and even if they did the warranty was expired. They didn't charge me for labor, but, I still paid 54.00 for the part. I appreciate that they didn't charge me labor. But it still sucked because if the back wasn't broken and replaced with an off-brand product I wouldn't have had to pay so much more. The people who work here are very kind. The atmosphere is nice. The front screen they repaired is good. Paying the literal price for someone else's mistake was not...
