This used to be my goto spot once a week. Before COVID they had a tight crew and great customer service. I don't know if there are financial difficulties impacting the quality of food and supplies but this location has gone downhill. On any given visit, you don't know what you are going to get. On one visit months ago the chicken looked like someone went to the grocery store and bought the hormone sized pieces that restaurants don't usually carry and the batter tasted like somebody tried to make it from scratch because it certainly was not Popeyes batter. I reported it to corporate. No follow up. A few weeks ago I ordered chicken sandwiches that were not wrapped and just tossed in Popeyes bags. I reported it to corporate. No follow up. And then tonight the drive through girl stated they were only accepting cash. No problem I thought maybe the credit card system went down. But then I got my order in a brown paper bag, I was not given any receipt, and the chicken was dark and oil saturated which anyone who cooks knows that look when you haven't changed your oil and trying to squeak out as much as you can. They also seem to have lost a lot of that great more adult staff that used to give such stellar service. Since no one has responded to my direct concerns, I am now forced to make a public "buyer beware" until this location gets its act together. I am trying to be as sympathetic as possible knowing how hard things are for any business due to COVID. I am also a small business owner. Obviously these owners have issues with their vendors either supply chain or not being able to meet their payables but tonight's transaction just came across as shady. The girl offered no explanations and was hoping and praying I didn't ask for a receipt. After these many strikes it wasn't worth the argument. Obviously something very wrong is happening at this location. Too bad, because I used to enjoy my visits....
Read moreOrdered an eight piece family meal with 4 biscuits and a mashed potato & gravy and one fry at the drive thru. The cashier was a nice polite young man. He made a mistake charged me for an eight piece only & thats all I received. Didnt notice til I got home. I called several times. First the line was busy. Second no answer. So I went back within the hour asking to pay the difference for my original order so I could receive my 4 biscuits and large side. There was a diff lady at the window. She contacted another lady who came to the window & told me she didnt have an eight piece order with a fry recently as if I was lying. She proceeded to act like she didnt believe me and had an attitude til I handed her the receipt. I politely askd to pay the diff since it was a mistake and I didnt want to get the original cashier in trouble. So she brought a manager to the window to tell me he couldnt charge me the difference since I already paid & that I would have to pay over $8 for 4 biscuits and my side when he could have just refunded the order and rerang it up. I wasnt asking for anything free and it was an inconvenience for me to have to drive all the way back from Urbana. On top of that he was also rude & acting like he had an attitude & wanted to just rush me out of his drive thru. I held my composure and was still not being rude back but needless to say I wasnt going to pay additional money full price for a separate order of biscuits and a side when that was not what I originally ordered. So I left unsatified. The staff needs to be retrained in customer satisfaction. I dont blame the young cashier who took my order since accidents happen & he was polite. Read moreHeard they changed the manage team, wanted to give it a second chance. However, the experience was SO bad. My husband ordered two drinks( a Diet Coke and a blue lemonade), bunch of chickens and two wraps. When I stopped at the drive through, the man gave me a Diet Coke and I waited for several minutes to get the food. Then he told me to pull up. I was waiting at the loading area for 5 minutes and still didn’t get my blue lemonade. I thought he was gonna bring it to me. But no. Then I went back and asked for my lemonade, he asked me “ what do you want?” Well, he told me to pull over, then I realized that the tone he was talking to me was that he wanted me to leave ( without giving me my drink). Then I showed him the ticket I said that he forgot to give me a drink. He asked “ you wanted the drink?” The lady waiting in line behind me laughed, she was like “yes she ordered it and you didn’t give it to her.” Then the man brought me a cup with CLEAR liquid in it and told me to leave. At that moment, their manager saw me and asked him what he put in there and he claimed it was lemonade. The manager smelled it and said it was not lemonade. She went back to the kitchen and got me the blue lemonade and was apologizing to me. She was really nice. I got no apologies from him, he was looking at me like nothing happened.
Anyway, I thanked the manager and the lady behind me because I didn’t want them to wait for too long. Back to the food, chicken was dry. Wrap and sandwich’s are small.
