Beautiful gardens but be careful with pets eating grass or fetching sticks or balls. They use grass and weed killer often and these chemicals are harmful and may cause cancer in humans and pets. Best to stay on sandy areas away from the grasses and bushes. Update 8/2018 They have used the killer weed killer again. Sadly we went to walk our dogs this week and seen and smelled the horrible chemicals. My dog Bella died 2/24/16. She was raised by this park and spent many days here. At 4 years old she suddenly got lymphoma and tragically died 10 weeks later. We know it was because we subjected her to the poisons unknowingly thinking we were being good puppy parents. Taking her to the park almost every day. She's now gone and we pray we can help other families keep their animals safe by sharing our story. She sniffed played ate grass here at the park. The entire time being subjected to these cancer causing weed killers. Please stop using these poisons Hampton park. We would rather see weeds and healthy pets. We LOVE and miss our baby Bella. Update 10/2019 Still spraying cancer causing weed killer every where. So sad it's such a beautiful park. Some people dont understand how dangerous round up truly is. We lost our baby puppy from visiting this park every day for two years. We had no idea we were hurting her . The round up was everywhere and shes a dog nose to the ground and bushes. Her lymphoma started in her face and throat. She died at 4 years old. I pray this park STOPS USING...

This past Saturday, I kicked off Mother’s Day weekend with a free yoga class at Hampton Park in downtown Charleston—and while the weather wasn’t exactly sunny and serene, the experience was absolutely unforgettable.
With rain clouds looming, we gathered under the charming gazebo (yes, yoga in a gazebo—magical). The class wasn’t your typical gentle flow either—it was strong, soulful, and exactly what my body and spirit needed. There was something powerful about moving and breathing with others, feet rooted to the earth, while the skies did their thing around us.
This class happens every second Saturday of the month, and it’s completely free. Rain or shine, it’s a whole vibe. Highly recommend for anyone craving connection, movement, and a reminder that self-care doesn’t need perfect conditions—it just...
Read moreIt has been years since I have been to Hampton Park. I ate at a restaurant nearby with a few friends so we decided to take a walk to the park. I had forgotten how pretty it is and all of the trails that it offers to walk. It was a nice day so several people were out there jogging, riding bikes, walking with their kids and walking their dogs. It was a nice family feeling environment. The houses around the peripheral of the park are very nice. It is a great place to take a nice walk. There's a huge fountain in the center with a lot of Canadian geese. The walkway and bridge around it are very cool but you have to watch out for the landmines that the Canadian geese leave. 😂 One of my friends has lived here for over 20 years and didn't know about this park. She's very excited to bring her family when they come to visit next month. It's very beautiful...
