POPBELLY — Restaurant in Charleston

The worst experience! When you complain about the food the owner will be dismissive, take zero accountability and block you. When we arrived we were drenched by water pouring down on the walkway (a simple drainpipe could fix this). The young lady at the counter was nice however, we immediately smelled old grease. The majority of the food that’s posted on social media wasn't available. When we questioned it, we were told the items were seasonal. Therefore, we ordered chicken and waffles. The chicken was burnt and hard and fried in dirty grease, which is what we smelled. The waffles were EGGOS! At the price point of $20 they should’ve been homemade. On the menu there were eggs in the picture, no eggs were included. We also ordered jerk mac and cheese. The jerk chicken was ok however, the mac and cheese lacked flavor, the noodles were over cooked and mushy and left a slick film in my mouth. The cornbread was ok but over priced. We ended up throwing everything away. Why would dupe your customers and sell them this trash? Integrity goes long way. You were aware of what you packaged and sold us. I would like a refund. But I’m sure you’ll block and dismiss this review as that seems...

I recently tried the chicken over rice from Popbelly in South Carolina, and I have to say that it was absolutely delicious. I give this dish a 5-star rating, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves flavorful and satisfying meals.

The chicken over rice was cooked to perfection - tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The rice was perfectly cooked and fluffy, and the combination of spices and herbs used in the dish was just right. It was clear that the chef had a real talent for creating delicious and well-balanced flavors.

In addition to the great taste of the dish, I also appreciated the generous portion size. The chicken over rice was definitely filling, and it was great value for the price. It made for a great lunch or dinner option, and I would definitely order it again.

The staff at Popbelly were also friendly and welcoming. They took my order quickly and efficiently, and they made sure that everything was exactly how I wanted it. They were knowledgeable about the menu and offered some great suggestions on other dishes I might enjoy.

They are open late when you need...

Unfortunately, my experience at Potbelly was disappointing. The atmosphere was underwhelming, with the overall cleanliness of the place feeling lacking. The service was slow, and the staff seemed disorganized, which made the wait feel longer than expected.

As for the food, I found it to be bland and overpriced for what was served. The sandwiches didn’t have much flavor, and the ingredients seemed average at best. I was expecting a more satisfying, hearty meal, but it felt more like a quick fix rather than anything memorable. Additionally, the bread wasn’t as fresh as I had hoped, and the portion sizes didn’t match the price tag.

Overall, Potbelly left me unimpressed. There are better options out there for a more flavorful and enjoyable meal, especially considering the cost. I won’t be rushing back...
