This is the only choice for up to the minute styles in one convenient location, honestly, for clothes and shoes for hard to shop for teenage kids or high maintenance people with a taste for higher end brand names..If you are the spare no expense on what you want or savvy in the new and now, or simply a regular teen or tween that wears what is typically in style with higher priced name brands. I personally dont spend more than I have to on anything, and I readily admit to the weakness of spoiling our 4 kids-- BUT I also try to teach that clothes are only as good as the person wearing them, and a great attitude can wear anything if you have confidence! But, without being naive, I know how mean other kids can be in judging by monetary value, and the ignorance adults can instill on their impressionable minds, so I try to point out what others seem to be wearing and find acceptable as "in style", but make it a point to teach appreciation to those providing for their needs. You can catch sales on many instances, but I feel it is more often the case, too high for many items as this is the only choice, unless you shop online, to get any choice of styles and certain brands not found anywhere else. It is our only mall for at least 60+ miles or more, so we really have little choice in where to go clothes or tech shopping.Shoes is an obvious reason, as no other places have the brands or selection that the different stores in the...
Read moreI haven’t been to Charleston Town Center much, just a couple times a long time ago, but from what I remember and from what I’ve seen recently, it’s definitely not like it used to be. Back then, it had a lot of stores, good crowds, and felt like a real mall. Now, there are a lot of empty spots and it just feels kind of dead compared to before. It’s a little sad honestly because you can tell it used to be something nice.
One thing that’s also a bit frustrating is the parking. You actually have to pay to park here, which seems a little unnecessary considering how many stores are gone. Depending on where you park, it can cost a few bucks, and some garages are even higher. It’s kind of disappointing when you compare it to Huntington Mall in Barboursville where parking is completely free, and the mall there still has way more stores and feels a lot busier.
The food court still has a few places open though, and it’s nice if you just want somewhere to walk indoors for a bit. I do hope one day it picks back up and brings in more stores because it has potential, but right now it’s definitely not what...
Read moreCharleston Town Center feels like a shadow of what it used to be. The building itself still has that large, multi-level layout that once made it a central hub for shopping in West Virginia, but now most of the stores are gone and the energy is missing. Walking through it today, it feels quiet, underused, and honestly a bit depressing.
One of the biggest downsides is the fact that you have to pay for parking, even if you’re just running in for a few minutes. Compared to the Huntington Mall, which not only has more open stores but also free parking, it’s hard to justify visiting the Town Center unless you have no other option. The empty storefronts and lack of variety really take away from the experience.
It’s disappointing because the location is great, and the mall has so much potential. But until it’s revitalized and filled with more businesses, it’s not somewhere I’d recommend for shopping or spending the day. There are simply better options nearby that offer more value and a...
