We really like the food at Recovery Sports Grill, but the prices always make us gasp a little every time we go there... which frankly isn't very often due to that fact.
This time, Hubs had the Grilled Salmon ($16) with a garlic sauce, mashed potatoes (which were barely lukewarm), & the "Ancient Grains" (a fancy label for regular old quinoa & chopped kale) side dish recommended by the waiter. I had the 8 oz Steakhouse Steak ($18) with mashed potatoes (also barely lukewarm) & the "Ancient Grains" as my 2nd side (again waiter recommended). Frankly, my steak had a big section of tough, unchewable gristle in the center (it went home to our dog) & Hubs says I make better quinoa dishes than what we had.
NOTE: BTW...be very careful about letting the waiter recommend an alternative side dish without first checking the pricing. Unbeknownst to either of us, our quinoa & kale with the fancy "Ancient Grains" label was an additional charge of $7/EACH!!
Anyway... we both had ice tea with our meal & our total bill was a little over $55 before the 20% tip!! Admittedly, as usual, we did have a good time... we always do when we're out together....but that's a little too steep for our senior citizens' wallet unless we're celebrating something special. Oh well,...
Read moreI've been here before and it was fantastic. Today, I initially thought it was my lucky day when we walked in to see it was .50 wing day, with wings being the reason we were there. I was served boneless wings, which I'm not a fan of but thought maybe they don't have traditional wings at the moment like many other establishments don't offer right now due to cost. So I didn't question or complain about it. They were dry and lacked flavor. When the bill came, we were charged full price for boneless wings. When we questioned it, our server explained that boneless wing day was Wednesday, admitted he never offered the option of traditional or boneless, and had just assumed i wanted boneless due to me ordering 6 instead of 5. I'm not familiar in the quantity they come in, I made the mistake of assuming that you order how many you want when priced per wing like everyone else. Neededless to say, I paid full price for a meal I didn't order, want, or enjoy. The staff need to be more informative and provide options. Its .50 wing day and someone orders wings. If you aren't going to ask, then my assumption would be that person wants the deal. Not the opposite. The best way would be to ask, and then make it right when...
Read moreVery rude staff. Waitress started out nice. However we never received silverware or drink refills. The more food we order the more her attitude changed. We saw her talking with kitchen staff and looking at us strange. We had to practically beg for a dessert menu and she was not happy that we ordered. She told us they were out of 2 of the 4 deserts that they offered. We asked for it to go. My son and daughter in-law went out to smoke and I stood up to help my toddler clean up and the waitress came running and literally shoved the bill in my face. I'm convinced she thought we were making a break for it. As if I was going to grab hold of 4 children under 6 and get away 🤦🏻♀️. As much as I hate to say it I'm pretty sure race had something to do with this incident. Horrible experience for spending $160.00 and I still tipped her $20 that she didn't deserve, however I believe management got into her head. Most of the food was amazing, I don't recommend the fried shrimp, no batter and no flavor. My family has no intention of spending any more of our hard...
