It’s so hard to believe that Hurler still gets lines. Fury 325 used to be considered the best roller coaster in the world, and depending on who you ask, it still is. Intimidator is a great B&M hyper, Copperhead Strike is fun, and Afterburn is arguably the best invert ever built.
Nighthawk gets lines because the capacity of that ride might as well be 1 rider per hour, and a similar case is true for Ricochet. Every other roller coaster here is better. Even Vortex and Carolina Cyclone, despite trying their best to give you a concussion, have good forces.
Hurler has no forces, no airtime, nothing. It’s Just Rough. It’s not even the best woodie in the park, and the only other one is a kiddie coaster. I don’t know why people even want to ride it, let alone wait for it.
The best thing this ride offers is a good layout for an RMC conversion, given we’ve seen it happen and succeeds with an exact clone, but given that A: Cedar Fair hasn’t worked with RMC since Steel Vengeance, and 2: the official Carowinds Twitter blocked someone who kept asking for it (they didn’t even block me, and I run a parody account of them) means that I’d bet on this ride being removed for a better wood coaster more than the one potential savior for it.
If you still want to ride it, you either want the credit or hate...
Read moreOk Come on guys. Yes this is a traditional classic woody but if we RMC this coaster then we are removing the heart of it as being a woody. While this may not be as fast as fury 325 it certainly does have some good airtime. I mean if you guys have really high expectations on this ride and the other rides in the park then you might not like any of them and find the other rides like intimidator, copperhead, vortex, cyclone, flying cobras, afterburn boring compared to fury so please don't hate on it so much. If you all have high standards then please stay away from intimidator, copperhead strike, vortex, cyclone, flying cobras, hurler or afterburn if you expect fury level thrills as those other coasters besides fury cater to wide variety of thrill seekers not looking for the extreme...
Read moreThis coaster turned 30 in 2024. The coaster had an extensive rebuild of the entire out section in the Winter of 2023 (pictured). That said, yes this is a rough ride. Yet, the air time hills make up a little bit for that. Not as historical as Blue Streak at Cedar Point and not a modern wood coaster like Mystic Timbers at Kings Island, yet this is the wood coaster Carowinds has. After the lift hill you get a nice view of Fury 325 and the surrounding area, then a pretty fun drop with a nice first turn into the air time hills. The rest of the ride is not a nice. Been riding it for years and will continue to ride it as...
