The Box Escape Room — Attraction in Charlotte

Me and my husband choose one place a month to go check out and this place stunk. I was skeptical when we pulled in but after opening the door I was like okay this is gonna be good .. oh boy was I wrong and should have stuck with my gut. Multiple things went wrong , the first was as soon as we went in to the first part the guy told us how to get into the room without us asking for help and since the first room was a part of the second we should have been left alone to gather clues so that ruined that part second was eye balls umm we seen them we tried to get them out for over 10min seconds they can check their cameras but nooooooo it was stuck my husband literally had to blow with his mouth bc their little machine didnt work And since We paid for a timed event and that took so long It made me very mad and then a key was not in the right place it was actually on the freaking floor so all the hats and everything else given to get that specific key didn't help and made us lose time as well because it wasn't where it was supposed to be which was problematic and made me upset again which took up time I paid for both of us to be in there and it was definitely not worth it stating things did not go right on their end They didn't even offer a partial refund or anything and I told them what had happened he said oh we will look into it maybe we'll have to buy another one like a completely ruined the moment. As an emerging escape room enthusiast, I can say with personal confidence that The Box is something special. From the moment of my arrival, Andy's hosting persona and attention to detail made a grand impression and created a sense of uncanny wonder. The door from the outside world to The Box's lobby is a portal. You leave your life behind and become part of a unique story. I set foot into a cinematic ambiance of this world and was immediately enraptured by the sensory detail of my surroundings. I became part of the mise-en-scene of The Box's vision before I even entered the first escape room proper. The Ventriloquist sates a thirst for the macabre. Dread and intrigue are fostered throughout the room's narrative. It's puzzles provide a challenging, but always fair, sense of progression. I was not ready for this room's completion, I did not want to leave the clutches of The Puppetmaster's maddening perception. Cold Case Killer introduces a deceptively calming scenario. Where The Ventriloquist provokes dread, Cold Case Killer excels in perpetuating an undercurrent of unease as the narrative unfolds. The puzzles were thoughtful and rewarding in their succession. The final revelations of this Cold Case Killer's completion demonstrate the evolution of an escape room being an event of simple entertainment into a philosophical art form. Wow! Most fun my wife and I have had in a very long time! Let me start by saying we have never done an escape room before and she is a Teacher and I am a Tech so we have very different backgrounds. Andy "the owner" came to great us immediately and this set the tone for an amazing night! Andy has found the secret ingredients to making this experience for the guest a night you will not forget. If you try this you will not regret the decision I promise. We have a 14 month toddler and this was our first night out in a year and a 1/2 so I wanted to "make the most" of the night because who knows how long it will be before we can go out again haha. The escape we did "Ventriloquist" provoked every emotion into an amazing experience. Andy has designed this to really use your mind in a very effective way. We also were not sure about doing this with people we did not know but after 30 seconds you find yourself working with them and breaking barriers you didn't know you had lol. From beginning to end my wife were working as a team with others, using our skills from different backgrounds, and if I had to do it again I would not change anything except I would have booked a different room immediately after the one we did!!!!! Don't hesitate, book an experience you will always remember!
