Charlottesville Skate Park — Attraction in Charlottesville

I'm not a skater, but my five grandchildren, ages 5 to 14-years-old, LOVED it here on a recent visit. They took their scooters and a skateboards and spent several happy hours, getting rid of lots of energy and enjoying themselves. This skatepark is clean and well-maintained with benches and seating areas for those of us not using the facilities. There is parking available with a short walk from the parking area to the skatepark. We were here on a weekday afternoon before 3:00 p.m. and practically had it to ourselves. Once school was out, lots of other people arrived and it became much more crowded. I went to 120 skateparks last year and Charlottesville was hands down the number 1 best park. It's perfect.

I'm from the UK so I don't see many parks like this. I could have spent the entire day here and still not hit up every possible line. It's practically 2 separate parks- a street plaza and a bowl park.

The bowl park has a big, deep kidney bowl, as well as a medium size bowl and a smaller bowl for beginners.

I even saw two members of staff with leaf blowers keeping the park clear. they were very friendly too.

The street plaza is so large that about 30 skaters can use it without getting in each other's way. I don't need to describe what's there, just take a look at the pictures and plan your route there. There aren't many better parks than...

Let me first start off by saying this was our first time to this skate park, and our second time to a skate park. I have never seen a such a supportive group of people in my life. My first time there and I saw an adult helping someone to do a trick, then the person he was helping came over to help my daughter drop in. I am telling you I wish ever sport was supportive like this, my kiddos left this place feeling so good and empowered. We even met this incredible young boy, that was helping my two girls as well.
