Kindness Cafe + Play — Restaurant in Charlottesville

My sons and I started frequenting Kindess Cafe during breaks in Zoom Kindergarten classes 2 years ago. We came for the curbside or drive by/drive-thru pick up (maybe the most convenient and easy "drive thru coffee" in town!!) of delicious icy Americanos, fun smoothies, perfect hot tea selection, and in the winter - FIST PUMPS (hot chocolate with so many treats). We could bring to the bike path or playground with us or now play some games they have set up outside. But not only did/do we continue to come for all of the treats, but for the chance to share a chat and some smiles under the big yellow umbrellas outside or just passing by with team Kindness. We're SO glad...

This cafe is located in a gorgeous, renovated YMCA. The space is so clean and modern, with sidewalk chalk, giant connect four and outdoors seating with shade. The customer service was friendly and fast! I just heard one employee as someone outside if they wanted their “usual” and recited it down how many ice cubes she likes in her iced coffee! I love how they’ve created a welcoming space for everyone here.

Also, the drip coffee was $2.5 for a 12oz. Mudhouse is $3.97 for a 12oz mug that ended up being less than 12oz and no free refills for dine in. Affordable, great coffee perfect for if you’re working out at the Y...

I had the best first time visit there this morning. A kind gentleman opened the door for me as I walked up and said “ a gentleman always opens the door for a lady”. They made me a decadent cappuccino with half and half while having a great conversation with one of the baristas. Plenty of parking and easy access through a separate door from the gym.
