Growing up in Upstate NY, we skated on state and private property and would be ticketed for doing so. There was no public park for us to use, we’d need our parents to drive us to Vermont.
This park is accessible to everyone from all socioeconomic backgrounds, can be reached via public transportation , is funded via taxes, and is a great outlet to keep kids off the streets. The city took the old park and built this upgrade and knocked it out of the park.
