My personal experience is based on only three sessions and must be stated as a factor. With an 11 month ongoing deteriorating injury prior to surgery, my physicians preference is ATI. Arriving 4 weeks post surgery, my encounter with my therapist during treatment #3 was tense. Her subjective view of my “lack of progress and pain from babying” my injury frustrated her, and she stated so. My response to her miracle two treatment sessions was an unrealistic expectation after an 11 month progressive deterioration of a knee joint and surgery. Her emotional response of “I’m frustrated and I’m at a loss as what to do” beckons the need for self reflection of skills, a more insightful chart review, problem solving and less implicit bias. I explained to my therapist, no two individuals progress at the same rate, doing the same textbook exercises, or achieve the exact same goals and furthermore, considering my injury history, she was receiving the best I could perform at that moment on that day, midway of our 3rd session. Plans must be individualized and recommended she never enter the area of skilled therapy where individual outcomes can take weeks to achieve. Her statement of being frustrated with my lack of progress, stating my rehab potential poor/not a good candidate for knee replacement after two sessions was offensive, emotionally immature as a member of a disciplinary team that effects patient outcomes. Patient history is critical. However I anticipate our post communication served as a...
Read moreI went to ATI PT on Gunbarrel Rd. for several months after surgery for a broken leg and a break in my radius (at the wrist). I worked with mostly with Belinda (wrist) and Hayley (leg). They were both incredible! From the first day I "walked" in, all the employees were warm and welcoming. The atmosphere was one of a family where everyone supported one another. With the consistency of my appointments, I was able get to know and support other clients as well. I never thought I would have fun at PT, especially when going 2x a week for 2 hours, but I did! One thing that really stuck out for me was the team work by ALL the employees. While I mostly worked with Hayley and Belinda, Kim and Ian often helped out when needed. Oh, and I really enjoyed the daily trivia- thanks Kim! Hayley sent me home with a clear knowledge of the exercises (and provided me with bands) I needed to continue strengthening at home. I would not hesitate to return to ATI and highly recommend them for...
Read moreATI has been a gamer changer for me! I was able to do 6 six weeks of therapy for my knee and the results absolutely surpassed what I thought was possible in such a short time span. I came in with a lot of frustrating limitations. Fast forward a few weeks later, I can now jump, kneel and run again! I truly couldn’t be happier with my PT outcome. I absolutely give all the credit to my therapist, Maggie. She was super intentional with teaching and guiding me through all the exercises and stretches she had tailored for me each week. She was so present with finding solutions for my needs and gave me confidence to move my body again without fear of re-injuring myself. I left every appointment feeling revitalized and deeply cared for. Maggie makes everyone feel like family while still being an absolute pro at what she does. I really loved that about her!! Thanks ATI for helping me gain my quality...
