Where to start??!! My lovely bride and I take a trip for our anniversary every year, always to different locations. We decided this year to visit NE Georgia and then spend most of our time in Chattanooga. Well, we hit the jackpot when we found St. Francis Cottage. We arrived on Thursday and stayed until Sunday morning. We were greeted by Wallace, Nancy and Mini. What a welcome we received. We were given all the information for our stay, a tour of the amazing property and shown to our room, the Monarch. It was even better than what we had hoped for. Peaceful, quiet, clean, quaint and with a great location to all of the places we wanted to visit while in the area. We had amazing breakfasts during our visit and Wallace and Nancy were very accommodating regarding breakfast times and food selection. And I going to tell you, the food was delectable and tongue tantalizing. From warm fruit crisps, fresh fruit, eggs perfectly cooked, eggs benedict, and French toast waffles!! Not to mention the fantastic fresh ground and brewed coffee. It was excellent. Our room had all the amenities and so much more than what we were looking for. Peaceful, comfortable, clean, and the bed was just perfect! Couldn't have asked for more as far as the room goes. BTW, they have thought of everything, and I mean everything. There is actually a table in the foyer that has amenities on it for guest to have if by chance they have forgotten something in their travels. This table came in very handy as I had a little accident and needed some minor medical supplies. Wallace, Nancy and Mini were great hosts. They were very warm and personable. Extremely helpful when we had questions or wanted their input on places to go and places to eat. They are wonderful hosts and are amazing people. I can't think of a single thing that wasn't just perfect as far as the stay. It was amazing. My wife and I highly recommend this B&B to everyone. We will be coming back again!!
Sincere thanks to Wallace and Nancy for the amazing stay!! You all have definitely outdone...
Read moreAfter an extensive search for place to stay with Family, I stumbled back a few times to St. Francis Cottage. The recent guests reviews is what swayed my decision. I was contemplating a couple of places that possibly would be more in proximity to where my Daughter would be tending class in Alabama. Traveling without my Husband was a concern of mine, as safety and security was top of my list. When I phoned St. Francis with my questions or any concerns, I was put at ease by the innkeeper. He gave me valuable recommendations on the area of Chattanooga and that we where in ample driving distance to many sights we wished to see. When we arrived we where pleasantly greeted by Wallace and Nancy, whom showed us around the cottage. The feeling of warmth and southern hospitality was apparent. All of the rooms are cozy and inviting. The furnishings are done in a very tasteful manor. Our accommodation in the Monarch room was extremely comfortable and quite. The view of the grounds from our room was so peaceful. The grounds are meticulously kept and was so beautiful just to sit outside and hear the birds chirping or see the squirrels scurrying about. Wallace and Nancy made the most scrumptious breakfasts each morning. My favorite would be the baked oatmeal, there was never a dish that would disappoint. Both Wallace and Nancy would go above and beyond to make your stay relaxing, no details left behind. Since our stay was on the longer side, we began to feel like Family coming home each evening, excited to share our adventure of the day with Wallace and Nancy, they took a genuine interest in all we shared. Leaving St. Francis Cottage we felt our souls energized and restored by the wonderful people we met in our travels and most importantly Wallace and Nancy, the love and dedication to make St. Francis the wonderful Bed and Breakfast it is today, is evident in all they do. We look forward to our stay next summer and beyond grateful for the hospitality...
Read moreThis was a 1 night stay during the pandemic - what?! I'm hardcore social distancing, not going anywhere, and chose St. Francis Cottage over a Hilton hotel (where I have points to stay for 'free') to keep risk levels lower.
First, location: This B&B is located very close to I-75 which was ideal for us as we were headed south to Georgia.
Atmosphere: The house is set back from the main road and on a large property with gardens surrounding it. There is a welcoming front porch and entering the foyer you get a sense of being welcomed to a home of people you know. Our room was on the first floor, the Sunflower room, so super convenient to check-in and drop our stuff. The room is spacious and comfortable. There are lots of modern amenities like a Google Mini, TV, with Netflix and wifi. The king bed was a little softer than we were expecting, but still comfortable. The en-suite bathroom was clean with plenty of towels.
The common spaces are well appointed with games, televisions, tables and there are welcoming outdoor spaces including a hot tub. Our arrival at 7:30pm was met with happy hour - snacks and beer and wine. Lovely!
Service: Wallace and Nancy were so very welcoming. They made us feel right at home. The service we experienced was outstanding!
Food: As I mentioned, there are snacks in the evening, they were individually packaged, thanks to COVID. There was also self-serve wine and beer. Breakfast was a 3 course affair. First course was fruit, with yogurt and granola available. The second course was a quiche with toast. The third course, my first time having a dessert course at breakfast, was a cinnamon roll with apple compote for the gluten eating, the gluten free option was pancakes. YUM. Nancy and Wallace were very attentive throughout the entire breakfast.
Overall: It's a yes for me. This is a wonderful place to...
