My boyfriend picked this restaurant as a surprise for our one year anniversary. When we first pulled up I was surprised by his choice. It's a small eclectic looking building with a purple roof. However, I knew he must have picked it for a reason. There was seating available inside and outside the restaurant. You pick your own seating and we chose a back booth. The decorations are very eclectic and super fun, in my opinion. When I saw the menu I finally realized why he picked this restaurant, they won an award for banana pudding in 2015. I love banana pudding! We were both hopeful it still was worthy of the award title. My boyfriend ordered a burger and chips, I ordered a barbeque plate with coleslaw and potato salad, and we got a banana pudding to share. We had the banana pudding brought out first and it was AMAZING! It was extremely creamy, had a good flavor, and was very decadent. My boyfriend said it was the best banana pudding he has ever had in a restaurant. Absolutely still worthy of the award title! My boyfriend said his burger was average, nothing too special. I thought my food was quite tasty and I enjoyed the sweet barbeque sauce they offered at the table. My boyfriend was given a pickle spear on his plate which he let me eat. The waitress heard me saying how the pickle spear was one of the best I have had and she brought me out two more. The staff here were attentive, friendly, and so kind! Honestly the staff made the experience that much better. I would visit this restaurant again for the staff and the banana pudding :)

We were coming back from a side road trip on our vacation and I almost skipped over this place while searching for a restaurant to eat at. The outside is a bit quirky and to be honest, the photos of the food - meh. But the reviews were fantastic and so we gave it a go. Boy are we glad we did! My family ordered the smoked chicken salad, chef salad, stuffed potato and baked beans. The salads were huge. My oldest daughter and I shared a stuffed potato as we weren't really hungry. They let us have both smoked chicken and pulled pork on ours. The chicken was perfectly smoked, juicy and tender as was the pulled pork. Sometimes restaurants over smoke their meats and then I feel like I am chewing on a briquet. The Purple Daisy was not this way at all, again it was perfectly smoked. The potato also had sour cream and the fixins on it. The potato was nearly the size of a football and we did not even eat it all. We chose to use both of the BBQ sauces they had on the table. The server was nice and had great suggestions. If we vacation near here again we will come back!

I have to be honest, we were so disappointed. The staff was less than friendly and treated us as though they couldn't be bothered with us. The food wasn't very flavorful, options minimal (no beef?!- of you are going to do one thing, do it excellent) it really tasted like the meat was re-heated and not fresh or juicy but cold and microwaved. The kitchen staff was loud and obnoxiously flirted with the blonde moody waitress. Every time the phone rang for a take out we heard staff say "noooo!". And don't waste your money on the bread pudding that won best of like 4 or 5 years ago, I took 2 bites and tossed it. We were freezing in the dinming room, the chairs were terribly uncomfortable... however the hashbrown casserole was decent l. Not sure what's going on here but either you need new staff or the owners need to get back in touch with their passion. The icing on the cake? Our $$$ bill for a terrible experience and disgusting food.

Chattanooga native. Been here once before. Last night we went with our two kids because we were starving and this restaurant was close by. It took a good 10 minutes to be seen and to get waters. We ordered two barbeque plates with chicken and pork. 5 minutes later they arrived (yay!) but to my wife's dismay, the chicken was ice cold. She asked if it could be reheated and they did say they could put it on the grill again. Meanwhile the rest of the food was just really mediocre. If you had gathered some Bush's baked beans and deli items from Wal Mart and put them on the plate I would not have been able to tell the difference.

The chicken and pork had really no flavor and needed to be drenched in a sauce to have any flavor. To be honest, it was a plate full of flavorless calories, which in the moment was what we needed, but I've had barbeque from a dozen places in Chattanooga that is better.

The server did come back at one point to ask if everything was tasting good and I replied "It's ok." Just okay? she replied. "Yeah it's just okay". She did a little "PFF and an eye roll and walked off. Both my wife and I have worked in restaurants before for several years and have eaten snails in street stalls in Portugal for $4 and been to $200 plate dinners in Miami. The important thing is how you treat your customers and this was just a super mediocre place. It doesn't matter if it's a $5 sandwich or an expensive dinner. I'm guessing from the number of out of state cars in the parking lot they make their money from tourists. But for $11, I'd rather just go to Dos Bros and eat better food and get much...

What's happening guys ! This Purple Daisy Picnic 🧺 Cafe is happening. I was invited here with friends. WOW 😳 ! What another creative restaurant ideal in our Senic City 🏙️🌆. This is one of several reasons why we are Tops in the Nation for Visitors. Someone definitely had to love the color purple . Got it 😄 ! No movie 🎥 here lol. However you guys are the stars ⭐. The management , and staff are the producers. Great Customer Service. It's Friendly, and Fast. They stay busy. It's almost impossible to pass by without stopping. It's a cute little building, with some very colorful decorations. Adults love them as much as kids 😻. It's located along the side of the Incline Railway 🚂. It can certainly accommodate you guys along with other Hugh parties. Okay 👍. You guys get the point let's eat. I highly recommend BBQ Sandwich & Hash brown casserole 🥘 delicious 😋. You definitely can throw in a Hugh Stuff Potatoe loaded. What about some Buffalo Chicken Quesadilla ? Now throw in some potato 🥗. You guys are good 😊 ? You can't leave without the delicious Banana Pudding 🍮. This is a fun place to eat. Remember the fun 😊 out weighs the funds 💰. Got it ! You guys are on vacation eat, drink, and most of all be safe.
