Vandergriff Park — Attraction in Chattanooga

This is an excellent park for individuals as well as family. They have an excellent track, which many people use for daily exercise. I have personally used this track , and it definitely worked to my advantage. They have a nice reservation facility, which is first come , first serve. People have parties , reunions, class, camps, birthdays, and families get togethers. The recreational equipment is safe for children of all ages. The parking lot does get full, and people park across the street. Please if this is you guys be careful. The cars keep it moving 🚗. Got it ? The area is surrounded by houses, a recreation center is across from the park. You guys will enjoy the luxury of nice restaurants in the area. If you are planning something get there early to reserve your spot.This is one of several parks in our 🏙️🌆 no reservations required. I want to encourage family, and friends to utilize our park 🏞️. This is great for running, walking, and skating. No need to ever go running or walking on the roadways. It's way too dangerous. Our Scenic City is the most visited Tourist Attraction in the World'. It's because of this park , and several like it throughout our city. I love 💕 Chatt....

I didn't have any issues with the seating area and the playground is awesome. Compared with most of the run down playgrounds around downtown and outskirts of town Chattanooga it's definitely and upgrade. However all that being said I would definitely prefer to take toilet paper with me and a special poop bag and go outside in the woods before I go back into that bathroom ever. That toilet in the last stall had a poop, mold/Mildew, and toilet paper combination that my nightmares won't soon forget. I also suggest stopping at a nearby store both/either before or after going to the playground. Definitely also bring at least a dollar store tablecloth/plastic table cover with you for the table. The tables aren't disgusting (that I could tell) however they aren't clean either. It's relatively neat and clutter-free and the playground equipment looks to be in good repair. If you go just take a few precautions and use the restroom somewhere else. Seriously don't go in the bathrooms here....

Edit** fixed water fountain, added changing tables in bathrooms and got new swings. Still needs some updates but trending in right direction. Nice park but needs some TLC. A slide, water fountain and walking path to play equipment have been broken for close to 2 yrs. The walking path are just poles in the ground now and some equipment is rusted. (pictures attached).

As for the playground it's nice. Plenty of space to play and separated into 3 play areas for different ages.

In the summer from noon to 4ish. It's hot hot, no shade, be prepared with sunscreen and water since the water fountain is broken.

The grounds are well kept. Always mowed, grass never gets too high and out of control.

Gazebo is first come first serve, plenty of tables for events.
