I ordered my wedding cake 8-9 months in advance, a 4 tier(with one dummy layer) white cake with tradition detailing. I came in to give them the picture of the cake for detailing when they opened up from winter holiday break and was told that they could not do my cake, the person who could do that detailing had quit and so had the person who had taken my order and said that they could do it. They wrote down my cakes details and took the full payment of my cake when I placed the order. They told me that they could do some other stuff like roses but when showed pictures of their rosettes they looked like something I would put on a 5 yr old's birthday cupcake at home. By the time they changed it to what their current decorator could do, it was no longer my cake and was told they traditionally would not even allow such short notice changes(I had come in a week and a half before and they were closed for holiday break). They called around but no one would take such late notice or was open during that time of year. By far the worst service I got from anyone in my whole wedding planning process, I will never use them again. My now husband was furious at how they had done me. I promptly got my money back and had a church friend make it. Thankfully, even though she does them on the side for fun, she did just as good as the picture and she is not even a professional business like they...
Read moreMy husband picked up a hand few of treats today! We got a brownie for me, peanut butter cookies, chocolate chunk cookies, no-bake cookies, and lemon chess bars. The brownie was so soft and fudgy and chocolaty - it almost made me forget about the world's problems! The peanut butter cookie was super soft and peanut buttery. The chocolate chunk cookies were okay - tasty - but my least favorite of all five and I wouldn't turn them down. Lemon chess bars were lemony and buttery. Now the no-bakes -- I have really high standards for no-bakes - I grew up making them with my grandma and then my mom and it's one of the reasons my husband wanted to marry me ;) LOL. Normally other people's are too dry, too crumbly, or the chocolate to peanut butter is too off - or too many oats - etc -- 101 ways to absolutely ruin a no-bake. So when I opened the package and smelled them I was like ohhhhh my, they smell and look just like my families. Then we tried them -- close enough I am not sure most of my kin could tell them apart if I brought them to a family gathering! They are doing good with social distancing - stand on the x out side and they come out and take your order and fill it -- we will def. be coming back to try cakes and pastries in the the future! This is the third local bakery we have tried since moving to Chatt. in Oct. and I don't see a reason to continue...
Read more#FederalBakeShop - Thanks for sharing responding to AGWright false truth review and setting the story correct left earlier by Anna G Wright.. Who ever heard of transporting a beautiful cake in back of a pick up truck in the late summer heat with no consideration for temperature conditions. What did your did the wedding party expect, such disregard to commonsense. The cake an 1 hours or more in non-protected summer weather. It recently reported the wedding was in Nashville almost 3 hours from Chattanooga. FBS will have .to start having waivers signed by the customer when the order are picked up. I love everything about Federal Bake Shop. A STAPLE FAMILY OWN BAKERY IN CHATTANOOGA FOR MANY YEARS. Google please remove #AGWright falsehood from the review. The poor cake condition by the time it got to Nashville was no fault to FBS. I have personally known this business for years. 10/12/2021 B/T/W my personal favorites are...
