Do Not Throw Away a $100 on the VIB "VIP" Experience.
I traveled from out of state for my cousin's 1st time wedding dress shopping. During that time, I was communicating with my aunt, so I have a timeline. Jan's response to my cousin's review lied on timing to save face. In response to the owner's response, no, they were NOT at your establishment "55 minutes early". I do no appreciate untruthful responses to your reviews. And am happy to provide proof. I attached screenshots. My aunt texted me at 1:29 pm that they would be arriving at Jan's around 2 pm. So by 1:35 pm, they were not checking in. At 2:22 pm my aunt texted me they were waiting in the car. So we are now 8 minutes away from the scheduled appointment. This lines up that they arrived around 2 pm, began checking in, were turned away sent back to their vehicles to walk back in closer to 2:30 pm. This was a RESERVED PAID VIP experience. Your website states, "Please arrive on time as we can not extend your time if you arrive late". That being said, 25 minutes early to an appointment would be appropriate. While we don't expect the consultation to start early, you'd assume you'd have prepped an area to wait at. The bridal area takes up, I'd say a majority of the upstairs. It has seating accommodations. Being early, this could have been when they looked at dresses as they waited for their PAID consultation. It also states the VIB details, âRefreshments for all guestsâ. My understanding is that refreshments had to be asked for. When I arrived, we had to ask for a bottle of water. I think advertising refreshments as a bullet point for a paid consultation, many would think it would be more than a bottle of water . Sparkling water would have felt like more VIP, if spillage was a concern. My Uber arrived at 2:48 pm. It took a few minutes to be escorted upstairs. Walking in it felt disorganized with reservations. They looked at me like I had 6 heads saying I was there for "my cousinâs name" wedding dress appointment. At 2:49 pm she was trying on the first dress. 20 minutes into the appointment. Almost 1/3rd of the time and getting into the 1st dress. I asked my aunt if they spent 20 mins working with the sales rep to narrow down styles and options. She said that they spent around 10 minutes alone upstairs, and in the most recent 10 minutes dresses were pulled. If I have a paid appointment with someone who specializes in something, I expect them to be with me during that appointment as this is not a common purchase and one of the most expensive dresses someone will buy in their lifetime. Time is not only money in this experience, but also important to try to narrow down options. After trying on what was pulled, I made a comment that it was clear my cousin liked style of a basque waist. I asked the rep if this style was on more dresses. We had 2 in the pulled dresses she tried on. She said there was another dress in that style. I asked if we could see it. Didn't get a response. My cousin asked if she could see the dress. To which the sales rep went to look. I can only assume coming up at the end of the apt, and not quickly finding the dress, she brought back a different style dress. It wasn't the same style. Makes more sense hearing the rep said many dresses were missing possibly sent for cleaning. If many dresses were missing, why accept a paid reservation? While I understand an appointment is set for a specific time frame, had the sales rep been with my cousin at the start of the appointment at 2:30 pm, this could have been time better used. I would appreciate a response explaining the VIP component of telling a bride that paid and reserved a consultation, that she needs to wait outside because she is 25 minutes before the start of her appointment. Also to explain if it was your staff or you as the owner being untruthful in your â55 minutes earlyâ...

First off, I live over an hour away from this boutique and I absolutely did not arrive 55 minutes prior to my appointment. It was in fact 25 minutes but considering the boutique was so busy that day Iâm sure this was an oversight by staff. I am not at all surprised that the reply to my concern was rude, unprofessional, inaccurate and an absolute lie as this is a perfect reflection of how my appointment went as well. My expectations for my first wedding dress shopping experience was not unrealistic. I wanted to find the dress of my dreams, in a relaxing environment surrounded by kind people and enjoy my day with my family. Brides, if this if what you are also looking for, unfortunately this boutique is unable to provide that and I highly suggest spending your money anywhere else.
ORIGINAL POST: Do not waste your time and money!!!!
Two weeks ago I went to Janâs Boutique for my first bridal gown appointment. I paid for a VIP bridal appointment and there was nothing VIP about it. First of all, as soon as you walk into the boutique it is extremely chaotic. I arrived 25 minutes early to be appointment. The woman at the front desk was very rude and asked us to wait in the car. Once we went back into the building, our appointment started 10 minutes late as there was no staff available at the time.
Once we were helped, our sales representative was rushed the entire time. I had to ask multiple times to see different dresses. Everything seemed like an inconvenience. She also stated she didn't know where all of the dresses were as she claimed they were "missing". With the VIP appointment, the website states we would be offered refreshments. This did not happen and my party eventually just asked for water.
I found a dress at Janâs that I absolutely loved but due to the staff being unfriendly and feeling rushed the entire appointment, I was not going to purchase from the boutique. I arrived to the appointment with all intentions of purchasing a wedding dress and had 3/5 guests fly out in from other states for this experience. I also drove over an hour to visit this shop. Due to the service I received, I went to another bridal shop after my appointment and purchased another dress.
I spoke to Lacey about my experience and was told I would hear back. Itâs now been 2 weeks and I havenât heard anything. Itâs very disappointing to expect and pay for a VIP experience and this is what I got. I definitely would not recommend...
Read moreI am going to give as honest of a review that I can. I went to Janâs Boutique with my daughter and granddaughter to look for a Mother Of The Bride gown. I had an appointment. Marie was the person who helped us. I liked her. She was friendly and personable. However, we felt as though we were being rushed. It was pick out three gowns from the ones she showed us. You arenât permitted to look through the racks yourself. Then to the fitting room. I was not given a long line bra to try on with the gowns. I have purchased three MOB gowns at different bridal stores and had always been given a bra for trying on gowns. I got undressed and Marie handed me the gowns through the curtain. It was âare you inâ a couple of times with each gown asking if I had the gown on. Then I came out of the fitting room, she put the clips on the back to help them fit better. Then she told me to get dressed again and come out so we could pick out three more gowns. Then the same routine again. I told Marie about the bad experience we had at Janâs when I went with my sister for her MOB gown in 2021 and because of that experience I wasnât going to try Janâs but knew someone who had a great experience since. Thatâs when my daughter told Marie that she felt like we were being rushed. At that point things got much better. I have to say Marie was fabulous. I decided on a gown but wanted to think it over. Marie said when I came back I would be given a long line bra to try with the gown. She would take my measurements and we would place the order. I called to make an appointment to retry on the gown and order it. I made the appointment with Marie. I received a call that afternoon telling me Marie wouldnât be in. I kept the appointment and had two other women of which one was the manager. They were great. Very personable and they had great senses of humor. I had to ask for the long line bra to try with the gown for my measurements. The gown was $850.00 I also purchased the bra which was $110. I was appalled when they had the audacity to charge a $50 shipping fee. The gown was being shipped to the store, not my home. This was the first time I ever had to pay a shipping fee on a MOB gown nor did I have to pay a shipping fee for three wedding gowns from...
