I called to cancel my membership and was told it would be cancelled due to my circumstances (normally they force people to walk in and cancel in person, obviously a shady way of trying to keep memberships longer). However, my card was charged for October. I called in again and spoke again with Brianna, who apologized and told me she would get it cancelled this time. The next day, my card was charged another $69.99. I called a third time and spoke with Brianna, who told me that was the November charge, and she had to wait for it to completely post, but then she would credit that as well as the October charge, since both were not supposed to hit my card. A few days later my card was credited for one month. I called a fourth time and had to leave Brianna a message. She did not call me back, rather she emailed me and told me she was only able to get the November refund approved. She had already promised me to cancel both. I have emailed back and forth with her and have now asked FOUR times for her to honor her word or give me the name of the person I can contact to get the credit. I am at my wits end. The woman won’t call me back, refuses to give me the name of a supervisor, and refuses to acknowledge the fact that SHE promised I would see two credits. I am sad to have this experience with them, because my family and I have been members for many years, and were just cancelling temporarily while we cannot use the pool. I participated in fundraisers and donated money. Swam laps for a 24 hour relay fundraiser. Attended hundreds of water aerobics classes over the years. This is how they treat loyal members of the YMCA. I unfortunately do NOT recommend joining or contributing money to...
Read moreI wanted two things from a gym: Zumba classes and child care. This Y's Child Watch hours overlapped with their Zumba schedule, so I signed up, only to learn repeatedly that the Child Watch hours are not as advertised. The front desk staff eventually learned and told me that one Child Watch worker had gone back to school, so Monday and Thursday evenings just wouldn't have Child Watch anymore. The actual posted hours never changed; they just put up a little sign in the lobby those days. "Sorry for the inconvenience." Saturdays were even worse because I waited around for 40 minutes after the supposed opening time and the Child Watch staff just never showed up. I came to the gym for every scheduled Zumba class for three weeks and never got to attend the class. The Child Watch door was locked every time. I cancelled our membership after one month, having spent $103 (membership and startup fees) for nothing but four trips to the pool. Note: we might have gone to the pool more, but the pool closed indefinitely on August 24.
The front desk staff and the pool staff were great. It would be nice if someday the Child Watch evening and weekend staff show up to work or they adjust the posted hours to reflect the time they can cover. That would have saved me...
Read moreGiving 3 stars because the people who run the front desk are some of the rudest people i have ever encountered in my entire life. The first time i came to the Y i asked for a specific person who works there to give me a tour of the facility and they rudely asked of she was expecting me. I replied with probably not but i would like a tour please. The second time i came with my sister to use a guest pass we had gotten because we wanted to try a class. When i walked in there were 3 people behind the desk. One was helping someone already but there was a young man and a woman that were just standing there. My sister and i walked up to the desk to give them my guest pass and the lady just walked away without acknowedging me at all. Then the young man walked away without acknowledging me as well then i turned to my right and he snapped his fingers at me and pointed to a book that I guess i was supposed to sign into. I have never had such bad customer service in my entire life. They were appalingly rude and inconsiderate of their PAYING customers. I've taken 2 classes at the Y and they were amazing. The only problem is literally the front...
