A Must-Do Experience in Chicago! We took the Architecture River Tour in Chicago, and it was such a fun and memorable experience! It’s definitely a must when visiting the city. We started our tour from Navy Pier at around 5:45 PM, which turned out to be the perfect time — the lighting, the views, and the overall vibe were just beautiful. Our storyteller and guide, Jillian (or Jill), did an amazing job! She was engaging, knowledgeable, and passionate about Chicago’s history and architecture. My daughter was truly inspired by her storytelling, and even my wife and I felt enlightened by how she shared the city’s story. The ride itself was smooth and relaxing. The captain did a great job navigating the river, and everyone on board was friendly and welcoming. The 75-minute tour went by quickly because we were enjoying every moment. Overall, this was one of the highlights of our Chicago trip. Highly recommend it for anyone — families, couples, or anyone who wants to learn more about the beautiful architecture and history of this...

Ok, with that out of the way. I was born and raised in the 312. South Side. Go Sox! In full disclosure, I do not live here anymore. It can be tough to find a Chicagoan who has taken a tour like this, or even been to the Sears Tower. All I can say is seeing the city from a boat gives you a whole new perspective and I would recommend it to everyone who visits the city and everyone who lives there as well.
Some great history to be learned. And great people running the tour. We had Andrew as our guide and he was fantastic. Provided a great tour, and had answers to all the questions.
To visitors? I would put this type of tour in your top ten things to do. And if you take this, they offer a discounted ticket for their lake tours. If the skies didn't get scattered with haze/dust, we would have done that. I also highly recommend you booking online. I noticed the prices were...
Read moreThe Chicago Architecture Boat Tour is a must-do experience. I highly recommend opting for the 90-minute tour over the 45-minute version, as it offers a more comprehensive view of the city’s iconic skyline, historic buildings, and rich architectural history along the river.
If your schedule allows, take the tour twice for contrasting experiences. First, during the summer in the late afternoon or early evening to enjoy the warm breeze and golden-hour lighting. Then again in October or November during the evening, when you can witness the city beautifully illuminated against the night sky and enjoy the crisp autumn air.
Each season and time of day offers a unique perspective, making both rides memorable in different ways. Booking in advance is also wise, especially during...
