The people that work in the harbor office are very rude and un-professional... I lost one of my passes last year and replaced it at a cost of $50 at that price we should be getting smart cards not decades-old technology that is not secure this is not a reasonable price for the technology being given to us... This year A friend of mine used my pass and never returned it.. Meanwhile I found the one I lost previously and wanted it reactivated...they claimed it could not be reactivated and they can only be programmed once which is a lie these proximity cards are the same ones that are given in hotels from about 15 years ago which are very low Tech and can be used over and over again . After visiting the office at the former airport facility the people there were not as rude but we're not helpful and asked me to leave after me wanting to discuss why we are being fleeced on these proximity cards allegedly. or they will call Security even though I did not say anything rude to them. They think everybody out here is made of money and can be ripped off at any time I am a locksmith and these cards cost $25 for 100 pack of them. They just want to gouge you at any way they can word of advice never lose your pass... thankfully I hunted down the person that didn't return my pass and I was able to retrieve it. To those of you who read this post do not lose your pass and become a victim of this scam allegedly perpetrated by West track Marine. I'll bet the city doesn't see one dime of the money they make off the fleecing of these cards allegedly Update.... I got this recent email and they're admitting that these systems need to be replaced people are duplicating these passes! Why not get a system that's unduplicatable? Time for West track to update their security and Hardware on their systems for the safety of boat owners! Instead of accepting the limits of outdated technology Pony up and spend the money and when you're paying $50 for decades-old technology they want you accept that and be ripped off all the money that they have made off these passes they should be able to upgrade the security of this system with unduplicatable proximity cards which are called smart cards.... I would recommend that they call Glavin security which is Chicago's best locksmith to do the upgrade!

I have enclosed a picture of the email that I received admitting that the antiquated proximity cards are not a feasible system to have in 2024!

A rolling Code system is definitely necessary to 100% prevent unauthorized duplication wake up West...

Parking can be a disaster when you get someone trying to get into the boater lot on either side.

There a great bar called boat drinks attached to the harbor house and nearby is the Balbo Monument, a 2000+ year old monument column from the Roman empire, Google it.

If you take a ride share after 3pm just get out at the corner with the stop sign and save your driver the headache of avoiding drunk boaters trying to get their boat out of the harbor to drive back to whatever suburb...

One of the best places in Chicago. Come here during the Spring and summer its beautiful. Nice place to bring friends, family, and a date. The location has Northernly Island where the concerts are held. Nice location to walk and jog. The workers are friendly and a great view of Lake Michigan. The location is by Soldier Field, Field Museum, and other spots to. The boats are nice and some of the fancy cars the residents drive. This is one of the best places in Chicago....

You pay $31 for the day to launch. But for the price you get: Gated parking which is nice. No courtesy docks, so don’t think about bringing anyone else but yourself and someone able bodied. A janky metal ladder to climb down when you need picked up. THE BEST PART: Bolts sticking out of the walls on the boat ramp where wood should be. Yes on all three lanes… see photos attached Easily one of the worst ramps we have launched at.

Clean bathrooms and amazing spot. It feels like a park because it’s usually quiet and close to the lake shore trails. Great city views from most areas of the harbor. Our spot at the far end was protected from the wind which made hanging out in the boat possible even during some of the summer’s windy days. Perfect place if you live south of the city so you can avoid most of the traffic on the way up.
